As I posted in a different thread, my wife sold her beloved little Honda Metro and bought herself a NEW scooter. Not a new to us scoot but a brand new 2008 Baja SC150, I know I said a brand new 2008 and I'm not joking. Its titled as a 2008 but when we picked it up from Pep Boys (of all places) it had 0.3miles on it, I rode it home for her as she didn't have her MC endorsement yet. Did you notice the volt gauge? Its a twin to my Velocity (not identical though). This is what the odometer showed when I got it home. On the way home we noticed that if I turned the right turn signal on it flashed right on the front but left on the back and vice versa for the left signal. When I got it home I immediately started fixing the factory mistakes and checking for loose and stripped screws and bolts. Also the brand new Kenda tires are out of round, shakes really bad. Probably from sitting in a warehouse for so long. I took the front tire off the Tank 150cc that I'm building to put on it and it smoothed out a little, so I'm probably gonna get new tires for it too. I also believe I'll be ordering enough DynaBeads for all my scoots. I've got new oil in the garage to change it out also. You remember that I said it was a brand new 2008? Looky here, notice the rust on the bolts? I didn't get a pic of it yet but it has front and rear disk brakes . I like that, I may have to figure out how to get that feature retrofitted onto my Velocity.

Congrats on the new addition! ;D The turn signal issue reminds me of some Chinese pocktbikes. They used to come wired so when you pulled the clutch the brake light would come on. People would be so confused and post on the pb forum like WTF is happening?!?!?!?! :scared: lol
I dunno about the dynabeads. Unless you've used them before and like them, I'd say skip 'em. A good set of tires should be all you need. The beads didn't do much for me. You'd be better off to upgrade to a different tire if there's a step up with the money you save on beads. I would say to try some Michelin Boppers or Sports if you can, but I've seen you ride in snow so I'd skip the Boppers at least.

Yeah it came with a 1yr warranty marshinman, I've already called Baja and got some new parts coming for it to replace the scratched ones at no cost. Goosey, she went down to the dmv and got her MC permit the day after we got it home and I'm getting ready to walk out the door to go to the dmv to get the plates for it.
If you look at the pics of it you can see a red front rim, thats actually off the Tank scoot that I put on there to check and see if it would smooth out any. I've gotta get the tires swapped out today as well because the rear rim won't mount up to it due to the rear disk rotor. And she asked me lastnight if I would paint her rims red to match the scoot, I told her yes but not today. I've got alot of wrenching to do this weekend and not alot of time to do it all. Off to the dmv so I can get back and start wrenching.

Nice ride man! :thumb: I thought it felt pretty good to me on my lil ride with it ;D! Maybe a set of flush mount turns? Or is there some already there and it came with two sets?

Yeah there are 2 sets on it Rob, the flush mounts are right above the hanging ones. I'm trying to talk her into letting me take the hanging ones off but she kinda likes them and its her scoot. We went for a ride tonight and she's happier with it then she ever was the little Metro, but it has more power also. I got the tires swapped out with the ones off the Tank today and that made a BIG difference in the ride, I think the Kendas just sat so long that they've got flat spots on em. I also changed out the shipping oil and put in good oil, the shipping oil run out like water when I drained it.

I changed out the stock rollers for a set of 13g sliders and it made a nice difference in the performance. Now if I could just talk her into a performance exhaust for it.

What's your taste in a performance exhaust for the 150's? I went more for looks and sound more than real performance gain.

Performance and sounds more my style. I already made up my mind that this things way too quiet for my taste, been looking at mufflers for it but she doesn't want it real loud and right now we are trying to get caught up on bills from when she wrecked and was off of work for that time period. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when we get the money to do something, till then she's enjoying the quiet ride and I'm waiting for her to get more comfortable on it before I do too much to it.

I've still got the 1 off the Tank that I'm gonna open up and see what I can do with. That way if she doesn't like it I can still put the new shiny 1 back on for her.

Well I mostly gutted the old one, it sounds better runs better but the one piece I didn't get out before I welded it back together came loose and its rattling around now. Yeah your right , I've gotta cut it back open and get that out of there and weld it back up again. She likes it alot better than stock but she's not crazy about the rattling at all.
