hey guys just a update the scoot is running great i average about 35-40mph and haven't touched the carb yet i would like to do this as my next mod :scoot2: so i found the jets i need on jets r us im just really afraid on tuning the carb after the jet is in. im afraid im gonna run to lean and burn the piston up or run to rich and have unwanted gas coming out of the exhaust. the carb is stock so i have no idea what jet i have in there. are there any links or how to's for the kymco s9 cuz i really dont wanna blow up my engine from not having it tuned right that would really make me sad

Running rich isn't even a big deal. It'll sputter and hesitate and won't wanna get going too well, but all you're doing is dumping excess fuel into the cylinder. Worst case scenario would be flooding and not being able to start it without letting it clear out. Running lean is where you could potentially see damage. With a cast iron cylinder, the first problem is usually a soft seize. The engine gets hot and the piston expands faster than the bore and it seizes up momentarily. If that happens, go easy on the way home and then upjet. With aluminum cylinders you have to be more careful not to go lean, because you're more likely to end up with a hole in the piston crown. If it's been fine with the main jet that's in there, start out by going larger on the main jet. If that makes it worse, you can go back to the stock size or try a size down from stock.

No idea. I'd just look in the carb if it were me. You'd know rather than guessing.

Of course 90gt is correct, just remove the carb bowl, take out the jet and see the size on the side of the jet itself
