Some styles of headlights have higher wattage replacements available. Otherwise, you'll need to adapt to a new type of bulb or whole new assembly for a significant change.

these things are so touchy with voltage... i could get some h7 sockets pretty easy from work (car dealership) but, would it be ok to install them ? not going to die on me or anything ?!

Most stators on small scooters put out around 80w or less. My scoot came stock with a 25w lamp I ran a 35/35 for a long time. Now I run a 40/45 and it is almost adequate. I think some people get away with running a 55w. If you do it is suggested to increase supply wire size to the next larger size to both the relay and the headlamp to avoid possible heat problems. That is over double the stock lamp size that the wiring is designed for so the wiring needs to be upgraded.

All of mine came with 35/35. I ran 45/45 for a bit for a nice improvement. I now use a 60/60 in one. Works very well. Another uses 2 55W H3 driving lights, one for hi one for lo. The other is actually not bad with a 35W. I've road for many hours at night up to about 60MPH without any major complaints with it. Different style housing than the other 2.
I've never done it, but I do agree it wouldn't be a bad idea to up the wire sizes. Also, be careful with high wattage bulbs in stock housings. Some have no issues and other housings end up melting.

Would an led flood light work as an alternative? Found one that should work from a lighting stand point but I'm not sure about the 5 or 6 watts it takes.

Most of the LED stuff doesn't put out enough light to see. I tried an H3 replacement LED setup and it was bright to see me, but didn't project light much at all for me to see.

Updates on this project: I ended up buying a headlight assembly from walmart and installing it... i think its an h3 bulb... took out the running light bulbs i think its 55w works pretty good! need to aim it, but so far it hasnt burned anything and its been in there for 2 weeks.
I also managed to convince the wife to let me put the kit in.... long story but, shes prego and owed me a favor lol.
Cant wait!

Thanks man.. its pretty crazy... This whole project got side tracked.
I ended up buying a real pos and put the bore kit in that. Converting it to disk brakes and a bunch of other crap. If I try to sell it o figure I will loose 200 on it lol, but I've learned a ton so maybe it was worth it.
Going to try and sell it for 600 but I think 400 is what I'm really going to be looking at. Body is just in too bad of shape. Who knows. I'll post it on Craigslist list for 800 and see if anyone bites.
