This is pretty good. Kuddos to the chick out for the hero badge . Check out the cop plow into the guy at 1:36 and run him into a fence, then keep his foot on the gas for a second spinning his tires while the front of his car is smashing the guy in between the car and the fence. Beer thieves or not, whats up with that? Crazy cops . I guess the guy is kinda lucky it was the cop and not that lady . I bet she woulda run em plum over

I think the woman's dumb for doing what she did. I appreciate that she was concerned and didn't want to let them get away with shoplifting... but she should think about her kids before risking her life over someone stealing 3 cases of beer from a multi-billion dollar corporation like Wal-Mart.. or even a mom and pop store for that matter. The dudes ran from the cops so it's reasonable to believe they would have done anything they had to do to her to get away. If I were her, I wouldn't want my kid to have to say his/her parent got ran over trying to stop some beer thieves. Most stores don't do crap because the lawsuits they would get for tackling someone would greatly outweigh any losses they'd incur from the theft. I hate to see people just be allowed to do this stuff, but with the way everything is today, it kinda makes sense. Kind of a related story... My father works at a hardware store. They were talking about theft and my father said he'd have no problem stopping a shoplifter. His boss says, "what if they attack you?". My father says he would defend himself. (He's an ex-martial arts and boxing instructor and fighter so a tussle doesn't worry him even at his age... although I keep reminding him he is over 60.) His boss then tells him that he won't support his actions in court if anything happened. So my father says, "OK, your stuff can walk right out that door then if they don't stop when I ask them to." Then his boss thinks that's a bad attitude and that he should do more. With employers having attitudes like that, why would someone wanna take a risk to protect said employer's assets?

Most heros are dead. She's lucky.... just not too blessed with brains. Now she will have to watch her back. If they are gang-affiliated a contract may have already been proffered on her.

I work at a big chain grocery store and a while back it was fun busting kids trying to steal a bottle of booze or what ever. Now we can be fired for being a hero. On Halloween night I was outside on break when a car pulled up. I saw a kid run out of the store with an arm full of cigarette cartons jump in the car and speed away. So Since I was already outside I slapped the trunk of the car, yelled some profanity and took down the plate #. Funny thing happened the next day. I was praised for getting the License plate but, Written up for touching the getaway car or "Chasing a thief". Go figure The more people steal the more you pay at the register. Or labor hours get cut. Either way the stolen merch is paid for by the customer in the long run. I agree she was careless in jumping on the POS thief's car but, I wish people could do more to combat such thieving Ass Hats!!!!

She's a dummy for thinking a few 12 packs of beer is going to hurt the most profitable retailer in the world. Wal-mart is borderline evil when it comes to their business practices so I have no sympathy for them if someone rips them off. I saw a report that said that the lions share of losses they incur are due to employees taking stuff home with them. Way more than shoplifters take. They have security watching the employees too so yeah, that lady is a dummy.
The thieves are dummies for fleeing because if they would have gave up it would have been a misdemeanor petty theft charge but instead they all get felony fleeing etc...
The cop that hit that guy was a prime example of how adrenaline can make you stop thinking and he may see an excessive force lawsuit if that guy gets a good lawyer. If you hit a cop's car with your car while fleeing they call it attempted murder on a police officer. That was potentially deadly force used to stop a guy from running. I would sue him, the dept.

Really, she could have gotten herself killed over 3 cases of beer. Leaving her kids to what. My vote is balls w/no brains. Much like the purse lady last year. If your gonna hit a gunman with a purse at least swing like you mean it, but jump on a car? LOL, bet she never tried to ride on top of a moving car before. One of my kids worked for a clothing retailor, they were not allowed to stop a shoplifter. However the employees and their bags were searched on the way out the door after a shift. Wierd. I tell every new kid in our store, don't take a chance, that is what the insurance is for.

you know why employers are saying more and more now not to go after the person and dont take the chance
LAWYERS
the loss is cheaper then the litigation if the employee hurts the perp

I bet the cop gets nothing for plowing into the guy and holding the accelerator. Your right Fox, we would be facing attempted murder for that. And might be shot and dead. But the cops??? Naw, they get off for murder 1 with maybe a slap on the wrist  .

Yep!
While I don't condone doing beer runs at Walmart I don't think the penalty for fleeing on foot afterward should be getting hit by a car. The cops are supposed to catch you not pass judgment and execute sentencing on the spot before they read you your rights. It's ironic that the woman's last name is Lawless
