Problem with my kymco super 8 A couple of weeks ago my starter went bad and because my kickstarter wasn't working. So i repaired my kickstarter and doing so i saw a little wear on the belt where the letters a print on. So i ordered a new belt, new weights and new rear poulie because it was worn. Last week i replaced the belt, weights and rear poulie and took out the bendix so that it wont rub. I also cleaned everything and all was good so i thought. 150 km later the speed dropped and the revs dropped that day it was very rainy so i thought it was a ignition problem but not so much luck. The next day the same problem and after some driving the rear wheel locked doing 50 km/h and no more drive. This is all that was left. Lucky me that i threw the old belt and all the tools to change it in my scoot so i didn't have to walk. What i know is that: - The belt wasn't rubbing - The belt was the right size - The old belt lasted 2000 km and was only replaced because it was lightly rubbing on the bendix Was i unlucky and did the new belt had a defect in it or is there a bigger problem?

hard to say tho but it shouldnt rub anywhere
could you maybe send some pics of the whole cvt?
i am already riding 9000km on mine (time for a new one!...) and that's with an 72cc so there is a bit more wear
so yeah something went horribly wrong in there...
what weight rollers do you have in there?
only thing that i could think of now is too light rollers and too light contraspring but then you should have noticed that the belt was slipping. so yeah i guess a faulty belt.
and what is your top speed?
i had a belt that was just 5mm longer and it reduced the top speed to 50kmh with it blasting in the rev limiter. then i placed the old belt in there and then the speed jumped to 70kmh on the speedo still blazing in the rev limiter but that's normal

The total setup how it is now: - 72cc naraku v2 - Touring camshaft - Restricted cdi - Malossi Multivar - 7.5 gram rollers - Dayco belt - No name sport clutch - Original contra spring - Top speed 55km/h GPS - Technigas GP4 exhaust without db-killer
So maybe is was just unlucky or i have to put the 1000 rpm contra spring and a little heavier roller weights. The old rear poulie had a malossi white contra spring and naraku torquedriver and 8 gram rollers

-over size/high speed 89mm diam front RollerCup ? -genuine Dayco, not fake dayco ? -rear CVT wobbling, rear plate with wrong alignment Due Welding... ? has to be spot on like 0,05mm Accuracy....not a 0,1mm or bigger wobble, or worse...

I found the problem (ok 2 problems). The original contra spring is to weak for a 47mm bbk because the belt slips (today was the first day without snow so i could test with full throttle) And something came in the cvt cover i didn't see what between al the belt pieces but there is a scratch/dent on the inside off the variator starter gear. I already replaced the contra spring and have to order the variator starter gear and some heavier rollers.
