Went back and tightened bowl drain and found mixture screw.ran it all way in and back it back 2 1/2 turns check for vaccum leaks, still won't run unless I choke with hand.

I would pull the carb off and do a cleaning. You may find the main jet blocked up.

The intake manifolds crack right along side the clamp that holds the carb on.
There is a plastic heat insulator between the intake and the head that could be cracked too.
(both above usually caused by over tightening)
You also want to check your pilot jet in the carb.
A "tight" intake valve can cause the same thing, check your valve adjustment (there is a guide in the tech section)
(These are the things I would check in order)

O.K. I've cleaned carb, check intake and intake spacer, checked valves, drained fuel tank and put in new gas, adjusting mixture screw has no effect, checked filter and fuel lines both are clear. Maybe I need a new carb. I don't know what else to try. If anyone has ideas or opinion please post.

Have you checked the compression yet?

You really need to do a compression check with a gauge. The other thing you need to check for is to make sure your timing is correct. The piston should be at TDC (Top Dead Center) and the valves should both be closed. If you pull the valve cover off and rotate the engine until the crank is showing TDC at this point the valves should be closed meaning the both of the lobes on the cam are going to be pointed out towards the front wheel area. If the crank is at TDC and the valves are showing to be open or even partially open then the timing is off and you need to adjust it. Timing chains can jump if the tension is not properly maintained.

I have a complete 4-stroke service/repair manual that I am working on uploading to the forum for everyone to use.
