I'll add pics once I'm able to. Got a Awesome 01 Sr50 for only $120 bucks with title. Crank is destroyed, piston is dead, but top performance 70cc cylinder is good still. Now I want to put the best parts in this thing that I can. So I'm going to need help with that please.I know the right combination of parts is key. Maybe I'll swap in a ditech engine? Is the fuel injection better than carb?

An SR is a nice basis to start from. Which engine is in it? minarelli, morini or piaggio? I woulnd'nt go with the di-tech motor since they're quite difficult to work on and you need a piece of hard- and software to tune it. I don't even know if the fuel system supports higher outputs than standard? Putting the best parts in it is a broad statement. What do you consider 'the best'? Do you mean the fastest or the most reliable or maybe the highest level of plug n play? Whats your goal? A certain top speed? And whats your budget? Things can get expensive VERY quickly if you build a motor with only high end parts. I consider the A.C motor i've build for my yamaha axis a midrace build (in the lower end of the midrace scope though). I used european A parts but nothing even nearly high-end. With all the teething problems and parts i've broke along the way in getting this thing all sorted out i've spend well over €1500. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/11245/lucass-70mph-yamaha-axis

1500 to 2000 is what I plan on budgeting. Now I've had a bunch of 4t scoots but only 2-3 2t scoots. I am familiar with how much parts are. I really don't plan on owning another scoot. And seeing how I got this one so cheap that I would be OK with the 1500-2000 on the initial build. Then here and there (Hobbies cost money) I live by Chicago and not many scoots around here. I'd like to show people what these things can really do!

I'd just start with a nice midrace setup. And don't forget to save some budget for upgrading the brakes, servicing the suspension and replacing or upgrading the engine mounts and rubbers.

I would make sure you get a 12mm crank. Those seem to have a better reputation than the oem 10mm cranks.

I couldn't find any part numbers on the engine at all. The only thing I found is a stamping inside the CVT cover saying minarelli. So I'm guessing minarelli it is.I think a mid race set up is a good idea. Enough power for wheelies!

If it's got the Minarelli engine there is a lot more parts available than the Morini engine. That's a win then. 👍

A nice basis would be: Stage 6 racing mk1 (12pin version) + malossi rhq crank. With this you can either choose to build a torqey, stealthy street setup which isn't too wild or you can stretch it to a near 20hp screamer! The s6 mk1 gives you a very broad range to work with.
In your case i'd complement the above with a yasuni R/07 pipe, 19mm dellorto phbg carb, polini speed control variator and malossi vl14 (or vforce) reeds.
Keep the rest stock until something prematurely breaks (which won't happen actually) or you're urge for moar power takes over.

I saw the top performance 86cc kit, comes with everything I need to get running. Plus enough cash to get an over range kit and maybe upgraded intake and carb. But I am open to options and others opinions. I've heard a lot of good things about stage 6. I don't know much about top performance? This build won't start for a few weeks anyways so I'd like to hear what people have to say, and their first hand opinions on the products they have bought so I can make the right choice the first time.

Oh yeah, I definitely like the idea of a 20hp screamer!!!!😊

Top performance makes a great cylinder too, so dont discredit it. Pair it with a high quality crank and a yasuni and you'll have a solid top end. Plus 1 on the overrange for that top end, you should have a 60+ mph machine with that
