I think them be toast.
But then maybe some superglue or JB weld, they can fix anything... LOL
What the hell caused that? The pads look barely worn. Instead of JB weld maybe some aluminiuminumonim pop rivets...LOL

I think FrankenMech that the brake pads were made by The Wet Soggy Cardboard & Paper Company out of recycled telephone directories and bonded with paper glue.

ESSENTIAL ADVICE FOR HOME MECHANICS FOLLOWING THE HAYNES MANUAL AND MAYBE OTHERS
Haynes: Rotate anticlockwise. Translation: Clamp with molegrips then beat repeatedly with hammer anticlockwise.
Haynes: This is a snug fit. Translation: You will skin your knuckles!
Haynes: This is a tight fit. Translation: Not a hope in hell matey!
Haynes: As described in Chapter 7... Translation: That'll teach you not to read through before you start, now you are looking at scary photos of the inside of a gearbox.
Haynes: Pry... Translation: Hammer a screwdriver into...
Haynes: Undo... Translation: Go buy a tin of WD40 (catering size).
Haynes: Retain tiny spring... Translation: "Ping... what the hell was that?
Haynes: Press and rotate to remove bulb... Translation: OK - that's the glass bit off, now fetch some good pliers to dig out the bayonet part.
Haynes: Lightly... Translation: Start off lightly and build up till the veins on your forehead are throbbing then re-check the manual because what you are doing now cannot be considered "lightly".
Haynes: Weekly checks... Translation: If it isn't broken don't fix it!
Haynes: Routine maintenance... Translation: If it isn't broken... it's about to be!
Haynes: One spanner rating. Translation: Your Mum could do this... so how did you manage to bugger it up?
Haynes: Two spanner rating. Translation: Now you may think that you can do this because two is a low, teeny, weeny number... but you also thought that the wiring diagram was a map of the Tokyo underground (in fact that would have been more use to you).
Haynes: Three spanner rating. Translation: Make sure you won't need your vehicle for a couple of days and that your AA cover includes Home Start.
Haynes: Four spanner rating. Translation: You are seriously considering this aren't you?
Haynes: Five spanner rating. Translation: OK - But don't ever carry your loved ones again and don't mention it to your insurance company!!
Haynes: ...if not, you can fabricate your own special tool like this... Translation: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
Haynes: Compress... Translation: Squeeze with all your might, jump up and down on, swear at, throw at the garage wall, then search for it in the dark corner of the garage.
Haynes: Inspect... Translation: Squint at really hard and pretend you know what you are looking at, then declare in a loud knowing voice to your wife "Yep, as I thought, it's going to need a new one"!
Haynes: Carefully... Translation: You are about to cut yourself!
Haynes: Retaining nut... Translation: Yes, that's it, that big spherical blob of rust.
Haynes: Get an assistant... Translation: Prepare to humiliate yourself in front of someone you know.
Haynes: Turning the engine will be easier with the spark pugs removed. Translation: However, starting the engine afterwards will be much harder. Once that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach has subsided, you can start to feel deeply ashamed as you gingerly refit the spark plugs.
Haynes: Refitting is the reverse sequence to removal. Translation: But you swear in different places.
Haynes: Prise away plastic locating pegs... Translation: Snap off...
Haynes: Using a suitable drift... Translation: The biggest nail in your tool box isn't a suitable drift!
Haynes: Everyday toolkit Translation: RAC Card & Mobile Phone
Haynes: Apply moderate heat... Translation: Placing your mouth near it and huffing isn't moderate heat.

One correction:
Haynes: Retain tiny spring... Translation: "Ping... OW!" get spare unbroken eyeglasses, what the hell was that?

Today after the 3rd attempt of changing the bottom arm for mot. Had use of garage but ramp needed each morning so car has to be mobile. Seized bolt's, rounded nuts extreme heat so even at night an hour's enough. Today have ramp for two days so out with the angle grinder and new discs. Cut off bolt as engine in the way to get new bolt in had to use gearbox jack to raise engine and long wrecking bar to lever down chassis and big hammer to twat bolt in the last bit past the gearbox. Hot,sweaty but all over bar a couple of "easy bits" I thought it was going to be a nice easy 1 hour job max with all the garage tools at hand lol.

The wipers went again new bit arrived today but didn't get home till dusk. Said to Yolanda I shall be only 15mins in the dark putting on new linkage as all tools prepared earlier and it's 4c so don't want to be doing in morning when it's minus 6 again. Job went to plan till last minute when another linkage popped off the post. Lots of cursing and back on and sorted damn long 15mins and cold now. I would love to sit by a warm fire but our housing people removed all the fireplaces so we can't have real fire incase we damage the environment and just spend lots of money on electric even though we have acres of sicla spruce close by which only gets pulped for bio mass and tons of logs they just leave to rot. Rant whinge rant.

Just fitted a wood-burner for My mum and dad and been supplying them with untreated pallets from work, they’ve not had the the boiler on since fitting wood-burner is that better for the environment? Who knows? They are warm tho

Rant whinge rant. When my parents moved into their house 22 years ago there was a few original features I liked. A big open staircase. The Parkay flooring, and an open fire. The staircase went and was replaced with one with a cupboard underneath. The Parkay flooring was carpeted over. And the wall with the fire was removed, and patio doors fitted.

I have an 'improved' fireplace but don't use it. The fireplace is sealed for air control with heat tubes inside and uses outside air for combustion. It will drive you out of the room. It is great peace of mind to have a backup heating source. I would have to inspect it before use though. I have a neighbor that hauls pallets and some wood of my own. It is horribly wasteful to convert electricity directly to heat, much better to use a heat pump. I also have a 30A/240V generator that has not been started for 12 years. The gas was drained etc. I should probably start it or fix it. I can get gas even if the gas stations don't have power. I have a cord to hook the generator up to the house. Hell, the Russians could blast our power stations tomorrow...
Government programs that leave logs to rot should be 'modified'.
Parents need cupboards under the stair for rowdy children. I did bio experiments with carpets, I won't have them in the house.

Sup ya'll. Still haven't done scooter BBK, but staying busy otherwise. Chain broke on motorcycle the other day, although it could not have been more convenient... coasted right back into my driveway. Luckly not some 200 miles away hiking in the Adirondacks! All the surrounding chain guards are tore up and need to be replaced. Man this supply chain market f#$cIng sucks. It won't be til April before I get everything. In the meantime, good opportunity to clean everything up. 10,443 miles on the ODO.
