Yup! I know what it's like.
Out of three daughters I actually only have one who is bad about stuff like that. But she's so bad that she more than makes up for her sisters. The sheer number of vehicles she's destroyed boggle the mind.
Her mother is in a similar category too, now that I think about it.

Both of my children were the source for the down payments on my next cars. They got the hand me down, totaled it, I got the check for my next car and they got my old one. By the third car they wanted to go car shopping with me.

By the third car they wanted to go car shopping with me. Come to think of it my daughter paid part of our holiday indirectly. I had her old car off her because a Nissan Micra was a bit small for her 4 kids when she had the last one and I sourced her another. Due to someone reversing into it when parked plus with all the dents on it from herself it was written off by the insurance company and I got £2000 and kept the car. I spent £20 on a rear light and kicked the plastic bumper into shape when I to remove it to put towbar on and car is still in use daily. 😊

My 'perfect' mother's daughter destroyed several cars in wrecks and blown engines, transmissions, etc etc. Seemingly any vehicle she touched. It didn't help that she lent them to friends. Until she bought a brand new toyota herself and took care of it.
My son wore a few out driving the piss out of them but never wrecked any. He does not buy new cars, but motorcycles and electronics are different. He has figured out that high performance (biggest, fastest, lightest, etc) tech either mechanical or electronic is expensive and highly stressed so it wears out quickly and is fragile. He was also well schooled by me about the price performance curve.
