I recently ran across a add on CraigList for a scooter in need of some serious repair. Here is what the add said. "I have a broken motor scooter that may or may not work I am not sure has a heated box that was with it I think it still works not sure MAKE AN OFFER " I was curious so I emailed the seller and asked for a picture and also asked what brand it was if they knew. Here is the picture I got back and they had no idea what brand it was as they just bought the house and found it in the back yard in the weeds. My first offer was $50.00 via email until I talked to them and they told me it was found in the back yard. At this point I was wondering is this stolen or not. I then got a phone number from the seller and called them and they told me the story of finding it, I thought about it and then decided that I would call the seller back and offer $30.00 and they would have to provide a receipt with the VIN number on it so if it is stolen I am clear. So my question is do any of you know what this scooter is. I am going to pick it up tomorrow morning.

Most probably a TGB delivery scooter. They came with either a minarelli 50cc 2t or a GY6 150 4t. Google it.

Ok so this morning I drove out to see the scooter in the picture. Well upon closer inspection I decided it was not worth bringing home. Most of the motor was gone, right side lower shock mount was gone, wiring harness had been cut in several places, there was a red ant nest in the frame. They also told me it was left behind by the former tenant along with most of his tools and several brand new car tires and they later found out he was wanted by the police. So I decided that this was not worth getting and having to deal with any trouble.

The wheels and front brake assembly are worth double your money. Prob smart to leave it if the dude was wanted though.

The seller even said they would write me out a receipt with the VIN on it but I was not going to take the chance and put work into something only to have it taken away later.... that would be :banghead:

I wouldn't worry about the scoot being taken away but about ME being taken away! Receiving stolen goods is grounds for arrest too. Good call. Leave it alone, for real.
