I am considering stripping my 2008 Zuma to the bare minimum. My search for pictures of "naked Zumas" seems to bring up only porn. Does anyone have a link to a naked zuma build? Also pros and cons of stripping one are welcomed.

There was one or two over on zumaforums but being photobucket killed all the pics unless you pay I doubt the pics are there any more
Issues are if you keep the seat bucket for storage it’s no longer secure also you need to figure out a gauge cluster as it would look really odd with the pod just hanging out

If your gonna do a naked scooter why not do a cheap Chinese scooter? If you do decide to do a naked zuma, please pm me with how much you want for your plastic parts.

If your gonna do a naked scooter why not do a cheap Chinese scooter?............. Because I dont want a cheap chinese naked scooter, I want Yamaha quality. I am going to catch hell for saying this but I do not like the Zuma very much. I especially do not like the way is sits in the seat with me on it. I am a big guy and I always feel like I am being pitched forward by the Zuma. Also there is not near enough legroom for me. I figured a naked Zuma would allow me to change the seat and leg room. There are lots of parts options for the Zuma too. I know a naked Zuma will never look NICE like your scoot and the other badass Zumas around here, but I am OK with that. I doubt I will hack up this perfectly good zuma, I just do not have the time to make it into what I want it to be. I think a Ruckus swapped with a 2smoker is a much better platform for me to start with, but I do not have a Ruckus. My efforts to sell the Zuma, and some of my other scoots have not worked out so far. I really, really like my Kymco ZX50 and my favorite scoot, the Naked ZX50. Both of those COMFORTABLE scoots use the Kymco built SC10 engines which are a partial copy of the Honda AF16 engine. We have seen, and are currently seeing some EPIC builds unfold in front of us using the AF16 engine platform. I have several spare SC10 engines, I would love to build a Super badass motor. But I will have to settle for something within my reach, like a 100cc+ Tadia LC build or something. I am seriously contemplating selling EVERYTHING I have except the SC10 based stuff. Hopefully it would allow me to focus better on one project platform instead of being distracted by all the different projects I start and never finish.

Can I suggest a vino? Or maybe a clone of one, a tng Venice? Those are pretty comfortable, and fairly common. A zuma is just kind of expensive imo to strip down. But whatever. I got dibs on anything you pull off the zuma haha.

They are both small cramped scoots. I can't make a hard right on the Vino without dragging the pipe, I guess that's what I get for being a 300lb fat ass.

Have you tried sitting further back or shaving the seat foam to get a good fit. I’m 6’2 and I sit at the back of the seat and it’s ok. Once I mount up my foot pegs it’ll be better.
Edit: image search - Yamaha Zuma no plastics, there are a few that came up linking to ZF

Edit: image search - Yamaha Zuma no plastics, there are a few that came up linking to ZF Sitting on the back is uncomfortable for me, kinda feels like I am sliding forward all of the time. I have not tried modifying the seat yet. Thanks for the hint on the search, I will try your wording.

Knowing the seat is the issue a few have cut them down they also reused the cover with no issues and Corbin did offer a solo seat for the 50
