My name is Tony and I’m 54 years old. When I was 16 I bought my first 50cc bike, a Yamaha RD50M. It was an amazing bike which gave me a lot of fun. It was kind of a challenge in those days to let your bike run as fast as possible (with the available amount of money you had as a student). But again this was really fun.
After passing my driver’s license test I did something really stupid; I sold my Yamaha… because I had an old car now. Even today I’m still very sorry I sold it, what a beautiful classic it would have been!
Always remembering the emotion when driving my bike, I decided last year to buy another bike (midlife crisis haha)!
As you don’t see to many 50cc gear shifters anymore, I bought a secondhand Aprilia Mojito custom 50cc. It’s a really nice ride and runs very well!
It’s almost a stock bike. The only things changed are the exhaust which is a Sito plus without restriction (rejetted the main from 53 to 58 for this), and I removed the vario ring restriction. After that it runs easily 80 km/h. I had to put a lot more effort in my Yamaha to let it run 80 km/h!
Well this is my story in a nutshell! Still have a couple of carb fine tune questions, but get back to that later!
