That's a big battery. My 250's run 12ah. I get mine from Apex Battary. They have a good selection, price and shipping.

I've bought my last 2 batteries from Chrome Battery. Good Prices and fast shipping...I like the "Pro" because of the built in volt meter....handy for troubleshooting.

See if you can find something with a higher CCA rating than standard. Cold cranking amps or CCA is the maximum amount of amps that a battery can provide for 30 seconds at zero F. The more powerful the better. 😀

I use those Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries they use for computer UPS units and emergency lights. They have great power output for cranking. They don't leak and corrode connections like standard wet-cell scoot batteries. They are also inexpensive when purchased through eBay or Amazon.

same here ! the hospital near me throws them out quite often. maybe 90% of them are completely useless but i have scavenged 4 of them that are good. i was very surprised to find that they sling these small engines over extremely well. in fact, it took quite a bit of cranking to run it down before i finally admitted to myself that i had to clean the carb.

Yes, my first use of a SLA battery was when my new scoot battery had a dead cell from the manufacturer. I had just had a 3 year old UPS fail the battery it was using so I had replaced it. I was trying to get my scoot running so I tried the 'dead' UPS battery and found out it worked well for the scoot. I used it for over a year before I replaced it just for good measure.
Some of those 'dead' batteries from the hospital may just need a little trickle charging. I try to use SLA batteries with 1/4" spade terminals, but even the 3/16" ones will work. Spade terminals beat the hell out of bolts and nuts.

We stock a lot of batteries here at PartsForScooters.com. Even have this handy little battery chart to help narrow down the perfect one. I just installed our smallest AGM Factory Activated 3ah battery and it starts a 93.4cc stroker easily.
