Hi, I have a moskito 49cc scooter and I had a problem with it I took the sensor out of the 2 cycle engine oil tank and mixed 50 to 1 of gas and it now runs with out spitting and sputtering but still seems to smoke a bit but not nearly as bad, but it sounds like it missing, just not sure what to do next

The only sensor I know of in most oil reserves is a low level sensor. It won't stop oil from going into the engine, just lights up a red light in the dash to tell you the oil level is low. You would need to drain and remove the oil injection system if you don't want it to work. More info... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=564Most of the time you will still smoke with 50:1 unless you use a smokeless oil. I use AMSOil Sabre Professional that claims to be smokeless. Mixed at 50:1 I still expect to see smoke at times and worry if I don't. The missing may be totally unrelated. Check grounds, connections to the stator, spark plug cap, spark plug, and see if they are all in good condition and secure.

where would I find the connections to the stator and where is the stator? I have changed the spark plug.

The stator generates electricity for the scooter and it twins as a timing device for the ignition system and has the engine cooling fan bolted in front of it. The stator is located on the right hand side of the scooter behind a shroud and the cooling fan (same side as the exhaust pipe). Here's a picture of where it's located on the scoot (Thanks to LaGgy 42o at Provoscooter for the pic) Just fish around until you see any wires that are coming from it up towards the battery or the engine. Good luck!

Did you get it used? A carborator cleaning never hurts in that case. If it had sat for a bit before riding, the tiny holes in the fuel jets gumm up from sitting.

That sounds like a good color and dry is ok. 6 is a little hot if anything. I would suggest a BR8HS. The heat range goes from cold=high number to hot=low number. Weird huh? You would think it would be the other way around.?.
