I use NGK iridium plugs. You may have a torch plug which isn't as good as a NGK.

The Iridium will be a CR7HIX.
I order mine off Amazon Prime at about half the cost of local shops.

I run the cheapest plugs I can find. the NGK are good, but I have used Torch and WANG ICI. Platinum and iridium are being sold by makers to get the 100,000mi tuneup range. You don't need that. I'd bet most plugs swapped out still have 'square' electrodes. A worn plug will have rounded edges on the center and side electrode. A rounded edge will gather no electrons, so they have a hard time accumulating and ganging up to have enough in tone spot to make the jump to the other electrode. Give them square corners, and they can gang up without rubbing shoulders, as it were, as they don't like to be close to each other. (like charges repel) Get the electrodes filed square and you'll have your best 'jump' for the spark. The hair-thin platinum electrodes concentrate the spark 'jumping off' spot, but don't allow a lot of square microns(?) to gather a lot of electrons. I vote for regular plugs, with sharp electrodes, and little deposits for best running. IMO. If you want auto/truck spark plugs that will last, platinum & iridium seem to be the leading contenders. FWIW, 'regular' plugs will last pretty well, over 25k miles, especially if you get hard electrode brands, such as A/D Delco, Autolite, and Motorcraft. IMO tom
