New to the forum, so hey everybody.
Bought a cobra racer, completely stock from a junk yard. Just installed a Malossi big bore kit to get up to 70cc and figured while i was at it added a malossi variator. Those are the only 2 upgrades i've made now, and i'm wondering what else i will have to do to get the best performance out of those 2 upgrades. i keep hearing about upping the carb jets, or even the carb itself? is it worth getting a new carb, or is there something i can do with the stock carb?
also, would it be worth getting a new exhaust? I do a little bit of automobile work and i know upgrading the pipes can sometimes help.
any advise for a newbie?

I would personally go over to scootdawgs website and read there 2 stroke introduction... Covers a lot. And the guy who owns this site wrote the article... So its pretty well worded

Hello and :welcome: . I own the same model scoot and must say they are of great quality :thumb: ! No need to go to SD! You can stick around here and i as well as others would be more than happy to help with your Kymco SF10 2T. I have put that same kit on the same scoot. Good choice for a daily driver. Very reliable kit.
To answer your question. A bigger carb inst going to do much but eat more fuel for you at this point. The factory Kiehin 18mm carb that is on it already is a great carb. Besides that the factory intake is port matched to that carb and the reed block so a bigger intake would be needed as well. But like i said, at this point, with that kit, you dont need a bigger carb.
A new pipe ;D! A new pipe would wake that kit up if your still running the stock exhaust.?. I would suggest the Technigas RSII-70cc pipe. That will suit your cylinder the best and make a whole new scooter for you to enjoy. If noise is a problem get it anyway. I have heard this pipe on these engines and they are not that loud. If you want OEM noise levels with a little more punch and allot more weight savings (our stock ex are HEAVY!) get a Leo SP3 or GP style exhaust. You should run the OEM airbox as you wont see any gains with an open filter but noise. Maybe a tad better throttle response but its really not worth the finicky tune IMO for a DD. The peak operating power RPM for your kit should be around 8,000-10,000 or so. That RSII-70 pipe will match that well and give you the most your gonna get with out of the box parts IMO.
Hope this helps.

i was on my cell phone when i responded above. Just wanted to give you a resource... I totally agree with 2strokd - if you want direct info on how to do something - this is the place to ask for it... people are pretty awesome and willing to help you through growing pains (eh... trust me...). scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2stroke&action=display&thread=14348There is the link i was talking about... there is just alot of well organized and thought out basic info on 2 strokes. But i would ask questions here any day before that forum... lot of people there will give you info, but they dont specialize like this site does with 2t's and will give you wrong info by mistake.
