Sooooooo after building my other scooter up to 30whp and over 80mph....I decided i needed something to ride that wasnt as high strung....and something i could take on long cruises without worrying about mixing race gas every 20 miles.lol.. So i present to you, my answer! a 2000 yamaha jog CY50! after picking it up i immediately began ordering parts to build a mild and reliable scoot. hence the name: Mr. Reliable! Build: Polini sport 70cc cast iron cyl. polini hi-speed variator Yasuni r pipe dellorto 19mm carb (stock airbox) stage 6 carbon V3 reeds hoca lightweight stator/rotor hoca CDI (polini 3 shoe clutch on the way) Dyno baseline: 3.5hp (will go back on the dyno after clutch and break-in)

Once you modify a 2 stroke scooter there is no going back.

Great build. Should be quite fast eventhough it's a mild build. That pipe will really do the trick! I bet it still does 60 with ease.

I see you are stuck with only 2 strokes. 🤔 I’ve built multiple gy6 bikes too. They aren’t as fast as my 2strokes. One is in my sig.

I'm in no way knocking the fact that pound for pound a 2 stroke is faster than a 4 stroke any day of the week. I haven't had the pleasure of riding a 2 stroke yet, sadly.

I almost ended up with a an early 2000's Yamaha 2stroke (might have been a jog) that was unclaimed for a year at the local scoot repair shop. The hitch was no title. I kind of wish I had picked it up and just bought a new frame.

Very nice setup for a rider. I'm interested to see exactly where it ends up on the dyno. Seeing how that wants to wheelie with a sport build, imagine putting your 2FAST combo in there and you can probably see why 'O'Verse was talking about not being able to keep his Jog down to get the 0-60 run he'd like. Nice test course you've got there too.

Did a top end run tonight. 60.2mph was the result. This is stock gearing and 6g rollers at 9,450rpm. 60mph was my goal for this setup so I’m pleased with the results so far!

yea theyre worth it!....I honestly enjoy riding my 2t scooters more than my big bikes! me too. There's something about the smell/smoke/sound of a 2stroke that i love. even how 2 strokes can be grouchy when it's really cold out has it's charm.
