Brought the scoot out to get her prepped for the riding season. Later start than I usually get, but I've been busy.
Guess what I forgot to do last fall? Turn off the petcock (I run gravity fed w/ manual switch).
Hmm, what the heck is going on, I wondered. I could kick it like 3 times and then it would lock up. "Must be a roller got knocked out of its slot," I said to myself. CVT cover off, all is well. Crank will turn slowly, but eventually locks.
Alright, says I. Pulled the engine. Loosen the head, and it starts to flowing gas. Wiggle the permetex free holding the bottom gaskets and I have a GUSH of fuel come out. Undue the pipe, it's pouring out of there. Had to remove the pipe as well, it was full of gas.
So, feeling like an idiot.
Bummer, as the piston and plug colors were perfection.
Bright side, get to take care of a few things I've been meaning to get to. I want to be riding or I'd do the LC conversion now. But I have two short cases in the garage that need rebuilding as well. I'll do them all side by side, and sell one to help w/funds for the LC conversion(s) for the Jog and bugeye.
