I have no problem using a multimeter to determine the correct pin outs. I've done that one once before. My question is that the regulator I'm looking at is advertised to be used only for 4 strokes. It seems to me that a 4 stroke stator would put out near the same amount of voltage as a 2 strokes, so why wouldn't it be able to work, as long as I had the correct pin out? Sorry if this one was done before, I did a search but didn't find the answer to this specific question.

Should be fine. In effect, all that is in there, is a rectifier bridge and a zener diode. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zener_diodeThe zener is mounted to the regulator case internally (and bleeds off any extra voltage as heat energy) so air flow over the case is kind of important (that is why they are usually mounted to the front of your scoot).

Thanks reveeen. Great input as always. Going to order it today. I'll post if - for some unknown reason - it doesn't work out.
