Got a question regarding paints, mixes, and coats using a spray gun and multi-stage painting?
So if one were to try a 3 coat (primer/color/cc), what do i need to know when choosing primer/color tint combos? Where does pearl, metal flake, and that crazy 2 color chameleon color - for examples - mix into the bases?
And for the different types of paint, urethane, acrylic, enamel, etc, is that primarily in the clearcoat stage or in all of it? Which types work best for which applications - using scooters as examples. (This works better for engines, this is frame and wheel, and this is what you use for plastics)
I get that rattle cans work great for the home hobby, but i'm just curious about the details the pro shops know

I honestly, do not know. We have specialist technicians who try sorting that out on a daily basis in pursuit of perfection. My end only requires I know proper prep and touch up to the part I'm working on. Proper paint codes, refab imperfections, and etc. I do not typically handle actual application of paint. I just make it look pretty afterwards.

I'm workin in the paint/blast department of a propane tank type shop, our daily bread is propane delivery tanks so i am doing finish sand and polish on the deck/tank stuff before they get assembled onto the trucks
