You can splice the wires together to complete the circuit . Remember safety switches are there for a reason.

Ok so overall this thing is having some major electrical problems. keeps popping fuses and im pretty sure burned out the starter switch (though thats ok it needed to be replaced anyways...) rather then beating my head on a wall - do you guys think it would be worth just buying Scrappy's harness - its only 30 bucks Side note i installed a new head on this and this is my first time wokring on a gy6 scoot so forgive me on this, but with the head installed if i spin the fly wheel around should the intake valve stay open till the end of the cycle then "pop" shut... or vice versa?!?!

this scooter was left outside for a few years
I recently bought one like that. Check ALL grounds (take apart, clean-up, and grease), probably one, or both, brake light switches are no good, you have a 50/50 chance any other switches are no good, just unplug stuff checking the connections, then white grease on re-assembly. Chances are the horn is NFG, and one, or two, of the cables are fubared (rear brake, front if cable operated, throttle, and speedo cable.
should the intake valve stay open till the end of the cycle then "pop" shut
The cam pushes on the rocker arm, that in turn operates the valve. The action should be smooth, no "popping". Remove the valve cover, and turning over the engine, you should watch the assembly work.......... it should be smooth and not jerky, or abrupt.

Sohuld be a smooth motion both ways, like the exhaust valve. Like Luke said, the easy option will probably be a new head. I'd pull it apart and inspect everything first to try to get an idea of what's up.

So the valve was not seated properly... That sucked putting the spring back on! All is good now with that part. New switches and cdi coming in this week... Time to get some body work done.
