Most people don't even realise that they love the 60s. Lots of the clothes we are wearing now originated in the 60s. The current Pony car wars that are being waged between Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge originated in the 60s. Notice that these cars are still using their old 60s names and have styling cues that are as 60s as they have ever been. Even our scooters are picking up or keeping 60s styling cues. Notice how the Kymco People kinda sorta looks like a 1960s vintage Honda Cub? And We're now beginning to see a lot of Chinese Cub-style motorcycles taking the market, like the Skygo SG.
As far as Jamaica is concerned I don't even know what to say. It's really difficult. All vehicles have to be registered, certified road worthy, and insured. Be that a 50cc scooter or an 18 wheel rig, the process is the same. There is absolutely no attempt to encourage less congestion and fuel consumption that motorcycles in general provide. Everybody has to pay his due to Caesar. And the harsh reality is that it's fairly difficult to obtain motorcycle insurance, since no insurance company will handle a bike unless the insurer already has a policy with them. Some flat out refuse to handle them. And the cost...<smh>...I recently called a company and they quoted me a figure that was MORE than for my Mitsubishi Galant! Flipping crazy people, I tell ya...

So what happened to your Corvair?Well, I actually owned 2 Corvairs: A Corvair van like this one: blogs.truckinweb.com/6390464/editorials/corvair-van/index.htmlA rod popped out of the engine in the early 70's (blew clear), I stuffed a T shirt in the hole (which lasted about 200 miles) and I left it dead on the side of the road in Manitoba somewhere (after removing the plates and id). And a Corvair like this one: www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z12105/Chevrolet-Corvair.aspxAbout 1976 I sold that one to a neighbor (who had to have it, I wasn't keen on the idea) who got drunk about a month later, and stuffed it into a concrete bridge (at speed) breaking his collar bone and both legs.
