Yes,The stock Keyway pipe looks like an expansion chamber, but is loaded with baffles,I have one here that has a catalytic converter in it too!Note the converter in the front section, baffles ahead of it,then it bangs into the flat rear plate,up onto the second and 3rd,and 4th set of baffles, then the stinger and foo-foo muffler!

This post shows a "crossover" exhaust; an exhaust for a four-stroke that is designed to look like a tuned pipe for a two-stroke. Here's a crossover exhaust that came on tao Tao gt5. Similar to naraku crossover. Ok bare with me this is very simple but could be hard to explain and sorry bout that art work. lol I'm missing the end of the pipe is why I drew it. Now...the pipe has 3 chambers and 3 tubes. If you look at the photos the 1st chamber stops at the 1st weld, 2nd chamber is between 1st weld and 2nd weld or where mines cut off. You can see inside the 2nd chamber if you look close in pics. The plate with holes/pipes u see is the end of the 2nd chamber and ehete the 3rd would start. Now for the drawing and how it all works. If you look at the thick arrow coming from headpipe you can see it passes through pipe 1 and it goes through the 2nd chamber into the 3rd where it empties into chamber 3 where it's bounced around and gets pushed through pipe 3 (bottom) where it then empties back into chamber 2. Gas is then forced out the center pipe ( 3) and out the stinger( thin arrow).. it's simple.
