Hi - this is a great site. I have done a search on my particular problem and would like some feedback on what I think I should do next next. I have a GY6 with around 3500 miles. The scooter has run just fine up until a month ago when it wasnt producing spark. sort of your typical - I parked it one evening, next day no go. So...I have had some issues with the coil wire so I simply replaced both the CDI, Coil and plug. After replacement still same situation - no go. in reviewing other threads and how to, I was going to check the stator next. I will check that tomorrow per the instructions on this site. But is there a voltage regulator or anything else here that I should examine or is that it - four things I have looked at or will look at: coil cdi plug stator Thanks all feedback appreciated.

I just got done typing a response to your first post, then it said the post was gone when I hit reply. lol Coil, plug, stator, and CDI are the major components. It could also be a wire/connection issue or a faulty kill or ignition switch.

got it will check kill switch as well.
yeah I accidentally posted in the 49cc area so I deleted it. Didn't want to be asking for help in the wrong area on my first post.
thanks for the help - really appreciate it. I've had this scooter for over 3 years now and of all the motorcycles I own or have owned, this is the most fun to ride in the city. I wish I would have found this site earlier. I've had questions and other problems with the scooter than I have resolved through the years that I am sure this site could have helped with. I could probably contribute as well since I have done some modifications - exhaust wise that some might find handy - useful.

I don't own a big bike, have rode them just a little, but I have friends with big bikes. One owns a scoot and says the same. Likes it in town, no clutch to worry about or shifting. Just simple to operate and more enjoyable. Another guy keeps telling me I need a big bike, but yet he always has a smile on his face when I let him ride one of my other scoots and we go to town or something. lol
Please do stick around to help out or to ask for help!

We don't have a lot of 150cc input, welcome and anything you found helpful ad it to the performance section, yes. We kinda learn as things come up, so it's always good to get fresh input. And I would replace the stator next, though I have read around that new CDI's have sometimes been shipping as duds new, and the second try corrected the problem Get exactly the type of stator you already have, wires and number of coils. Some are without the green ground wire in the larger plug section, and that seems to work without problems. Anything different can result in annoying things like blown light bulbs and regulators.

I worked on a Tank Classic 150cc a while back that had no spark. I initially thought it was the stator and tried a new one with no luck. It turned out to be a bad voltage regulator and a bad CDI at the same time.

Before going any farther I would check the side stand switch. You will not get ANY spark with the side stand down.

Fox is right, plug, coil, CDI, Regulator, stator, is a good order to go by with no spark. If you have the cut off switch on your side stand check that...cheapest and easiest to more difficult and costly. Connectors to wires come loose also, give everything a jiggle something you can't see may pop loose.

LOL, the stars and title are gained by posts. Look at the pictures and you'll recognize it when you see it. Mine are screwed in the front center in by the light and guage wiring. A metal square or rectangle with cooling fins close to the same size as the CDI, slightly smaller.

checked everything up to stator -
uh. how do I get the stator off? I have the plastic fins removed and I am left with a fly wheel and the bolt in the center, but I am not so sure the bolt holds the fly wheel on?
any ideas?

Remove the nut and then you'll need a flywheel puller. Should be 27mm x 1.0 left hand thread.
