Hello,
I'm new to this forum but not new to scooters.
I currently have a Malaguti F-15 liquid cooled 50cc project that I need help with.
I want to take this up to 70cc and need the following info.
1. I can get an NCY (??) kit for very reasonable money or an Airsal which i used before on a Kymco Super 9 LC. (very good) or does someone reccomend something else.
2. Is the stock minerelli carb ok or do I need to rejet. Bigger carb?
3. is the stock expansion pipe okay or do I need to upgrade there?
I am not racing the scooter, just street riding. I have a Rocketa 250B and an 1100 Suzuki for the real go fast stuff. I just really like the quality and the looks of this scoot and want to upgrade but not have something that has to spin 10,000 rpm to make power.
any help is appreciated.

Like jmk said, stick with sport level kits to keep the revs low. Try browsing a site (like www.sipscootershop.com for example) that lists peak power RPM for a lot of it's pipes and cylinder kit. Sites like that can be very helpful for choosing components that mesh well. SIP even gives upjetting and carb size recommendations for some items.

I'm not that familiar with the LC stuff. It's hard to go wrong with the big names, but for sport kits I've had good luck with about anything including cheap eBay cylinders. I like cast iron kits for street scoots vs aluminum. You'll soft seize most of the time instead of burning a hole in the top of the piston if you run lean.

My TP Trophy Series has served me well and the power is broad and satisfactory. It comes pretty close to being the 'best bang for the buck' IMO. Motoforce makes a similar kit that is cheaper and supposed to be pretty durable but I cannot vouch for it.
