Slim- I myself am debating the very same thing you are. I got the same scooter you do only a year older, and once I saw how relatively cheap a motor swap was for these scoots, I was ready for it! And I asked a few of the senior members, and read the same two links, and I advise you to read them thoroughly. They are all you need to kno to make up your mind and are totally kick-ass(thanks to the authors!!!).
My thing was- do a bbk, add a pipe, rollers, contra spring,etc... or a jog90 motor swap. I ordered a bbk just to familiarize myself with working on a scooter, but believe me once tax season rolls around I'm swapping to a 90. Guys on this site say they love the torque and its prolly the best bolt on.
I do honda motor swaps a lot and some of them can get pricey. But it takes a lot of time and money to take that non vtec motor and make it a vtec with power thats equal to or better than a swap. So Im all about the swap...

Thanks for the offer on the neo, but I have a similar contraption to it called vafc that I use. A lot of folks hate them, but I find them really useful. Especially if u cant afford a standalone or a pricey piggyback.
I do have a buddy that might take off your hands tho. Ill find out and shhot u a pm. Thanks...

Thanks you guys for all the info you have been alot of help and i appreciate it....as far as the variator i believe it comes with one installed already and on the clutch im gonna use the same one till i can afford to get one ....will this motor allow me the space to install a stroker crank without boring the engine??? how fast will my scooter go when im done installing the new engine??? were can i get a manual i have one but think i got the wrong one what scooters have the same engine and setup as mine? Also what is the better brank clutch i can get for my scooter and the variator and what weight rollers would be best to use??? Is polini a pretty good brand? Can you guys give me a little more intell One last thing is on the new motor looked at wiring of new one and noticed it has one less wire in the hookup points than the stock one will you guys check into this ull have to look at the 49cc and 90cc motor and see the difference i cant save the pics or id post them......theres pics of the engine wiring and all at the websites 49cc www.partsforscooters.com/220-44__Minarelli__Style_1E40QMB__Engine?sc=2&category=77295#90cc www.partsforscooters.com/90cc-2-stroke-1PE50QMF-EngineAnd now im looking at the pic of engine if it includes all in pic of 90cc motor it will have a clutch that comes with and variator probally already installed and in the engine

You should be able to fit a 45mm stroke crank in there without case mods. There are different cranks available, but there are definitely some that will swap right into the 90cc cases. Regarding the speed, I'm not sure how much more detailed I can get than this thread that was already posted here. Results will vary, not all 90s are created equal, I'm heavy, but it's good info on what to expect and what to expect from different upgrades... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=yamajog&action=display&thread=1712&page=1The manual for a 49cc minarelli will serve the same purposes for the most part. There are links to those in our Tech Library, and a lot of articles in the Library. Of course browse the Library and you'll find even more info on these engines. Leave the clutch alone IMO. You just won't see gains with it. The biggest difference you'll be likely to notice after buying a new clutch for anything but a race setup is that you now have less money. If there is a problem with a worn out or slipping clutch, that's a different story, but as long as it works OK, leave it alone for now. I have had very good luck with the Hoca variator from PFS. There are others that are similar as well, they're copies of a Malossi MultiVar that is often replicated. They come at a good price and you can see nice gains. Look in the Project 90 link above and that variator was tested. The engines you linked to come with everything shown, and yes there is a working CVT under the cover including the clutch and variator.

with no real tunning i get about 53mph from the 90cc with the 45mm rumia crank and a 54mm bbk i also have a 21mm arreche carb with a 95 mian jet and 6gram sliders, the pipe is a yws v8 and makes good low end power, the power band comes on about 6200rpms and pulls hard to about 9000rpm. i have a 2008 triton r4 and i weigh about 155 pounds
