i just got my bbk installed on my 2 stroke vino 50 and now she wont start. before i installed the bbk, it ran amazing. now not so much as a fart. i have spark, i have compression and i have fuel in the carb. i upjetted my carb to a #80. i tried starting with and without the airbox on. i even tried some quick start in the carb. still nothing. any advice?

Check the vacuum line on the petcock . Make sure that's working . Give it a few "primes" and see what that does for you.

nada. i took it apart to see if everything was ok. the gasket was spun around so im re-assembling it and ill see what that does

you said you tried some quick start im assumeing that is a starting fluid
if thats the case and it wont run on spary your issues are spark compresion
persoanly i would start with makeing sure the piston is installed properly the rings are in the right order if its a 2 ring kit(some kits have an order for the rings) that i removed all the origonal base gasket nothing is stuck between the cyl and the engine the head is properly installed

I just installed a new cylinder last week. I've done this job too many times to count. I was rushing, which I know just causes headaches, and didn't notice that I installed my base gasket upside down (blocking the top port and causing a massive leak. Managed to get it started before I figured out what was going on. Even us experienced guys make mistakes. Double check your install, and make sure that jet you put in was clean, and you didn't get any dust or dirt in the carb in the process.

well i have er solved. i was in a rush also when doing it and sure enough, the base gasket was upside down. flipped it around and re-installed it and it roared to life.

:rofl: I did that very same thing years ago on my first scooter BBK. I was talking to my neighbor all excited about the "new power" lol, and didnt even notice the base gasket :laugh:. Ahhh, the good ole days... That thing ran funky :spin:

lol. first time for everything haha. now the challenge of trying to figure out a good set of rollers to throw in and the proper jetting
