Variator & belt question

so i had a few drinks the other night and put a bid on a KOSO 90cc Variator .

I installed it the other day on my 50cc keeway matrix (if your wondering it comes with the 12mm wrist pin).

Now my issue is this:
I bought my scooter about 3 months ago so i dont know if this is the original belt, but its an 07 built in 06.

Now the belt has some wear and over the last few months seems like its stretched out... like alot.

I ordered a new belt tonight...

does this seem like normal wear and tear or maybe something else. i figure a belt on one of these should almost be replaced yearly and im sure the douche's who owned it before didnt.

Sorry, NONE to spare, a good, almost 60 years, under my belt, killing brain cells.

Belts sorta wear out here (get skinny) about once a year. Never seen one stretch, (but I don't buy cheapo belts) stretching would be due to broken cords in the belt, once the cords start breaking the belt wouldn't work any more. I *guess* broken cords would be caused by heat and/or wrapping too tightly around a corner (or shaft)..... forcing the belt into too tight a radius kind of thing. An impact on a belt would break the cords. (*think* broken cords in a tire.... same technology).

More likely a manufacturing defect, kind of fubared from new, waiting to fail.
