So the other day I was talking to a guy who rode a scoot when he lived in Italy, and he was telling me that he put 1 six gram weight in his variator and the rest 5 grams because he was told it would make it fast. I could not see this working but who knows, anyone ever heard of such a thing before?
Also, when alternating weight to get half grams(i.e 4g,5g,4g,5g,4g,5g) is it ok to use sliders and rollers or should you stick to one or the other?
Thanks for reading!

That sounds like a bad idea that would throw the variator out of balance. I wouldn't try one weight of a different value.
Never tried rollers and sliders mixed, but I believe 2strokd posted that it worked for him at one point.

Ive mixed em up in a bind and it worked good for me. Slider weights and rollers that is..I would never put one heavier weight in tho  . Brent is right, it WILL throw the vari and everything its hooked to off balance. I just rebuilt an engine that had one weight in it that was heavier than the rest. The vari was shot! Bushing was worn almost to the vari cast right were the heavy weight was
