I have the choice for my Kymco between a carburettor : Dellorto L-DEL1438 17.5mm ($ 160), Naraku NK201.04 17.5mm ($ 90) or Areche 10469 17.5mm ($ 140). Price are in Canadian, il live in Montreal...
Is the Dellorto better or the Naraku will give the same performance.!?
What is easier to have the jets !? Thank you

I would lean towards the Dellorto for the sake of availability, knowledge base, etc...
What model is that? Check Treatland and see if they have a better price.

Ok. That's the PHVA.. I was running a $20 clone on my Derbi. It was OK except the metering needle profile was all kinds of screwy. Switched it out to a legit PHBG.

I buy the Naraku 17.5mm carb. It come with 6MM main jet #90 and pilot jet #35 same setting of my original 16mm carburettor but 5mm main jet. After the first run, the scooter didn't have the same power as the original carburetor. The only other 6mm jet I had was 105 and 115. I install the #105 with original air box and exhaust. For now it run better but i thimk it's too big!? Going to chack my plug tomorrow...

This is my first test with carb 17.5mm, main jet #102 needle clip middle snatch and i git 48mph (78km/h) on speedo! I run 7 miles hi speed amd this is what it look the spark plug, it was not a new one. What do you think? Tomorrow i'm going to put a brand new one and make long run...

I find a temperature gauge is more useful than trying to read plugs. Doing a proper plug read is a lot of hassle. Look up what it takes to do a proper plug chop, I'm pretty sure it's on here somewhere.

Brent (90GTVert) has a nice write up in the tech secton about plug chops.

I like the "where does it four stroke?" method. Start rich and lean out until it doesn't four-stroke too bad when you back off the throttle at a fixed speed. There's a write up over at Moped Army on tuning multi jet type carbs using that method

And of course you must cut the threads off to see all this. A true plug chop is also usually done by warming the engine, swapping in a fresh plug, running the bike for a mile or so at wot, cutting the ignition and fuel and coasting to a stop, then pulling the plug.

This is a new spark plug with a main jet #105, needle clip in middle, original air box no restriction. But need close the air inlet with my hand to start the scooter when cold in morning. The pilot jet is #35. But all the day it's start #1. Thank's!

I,m not a speedster or a tuner for that matter but untill some one chips in I think your way to lean and close to engine damage richen it up by jetting or by controlling the air flow.Post a photo of your air box and the restrictor if you still have it.The tech section has the answer use the DIRECTORY(over on the left)to navigate.

This is before i remove the air box restriction without the restriction. I have a other main jet #115 or I try with the restriction.

Ive never cut a spark plug in my lifetime..Bright light and a magnifier will show that bottom ring,,Install that 115 main and see how it runs, you may even need a bigger jet..Part throttle tuning can be done with the jet needle clip adjustment,,Good Luck,Be Careful!!

Very lean to me. You should upjet, or put the 'restrictor' back in the airbox w the smaller jet. Maybe your getting too much air and not enough vacuum.
