I've been looking round, and all the pictures show dirty ones, not necessarily yellow. I also quickly tried some toothpaste, but it didn't help (much). But, after watching some more videos, it seems that toothpaste means copius amounts of toothpaste rubbed all over it rubbed in, then scrubbed off with water. I guess i ought to try that.

I would try the methods in that link. They work for yellow headlights.

That's me trying to learn how to wheelie 3-4 years ago. I still suck at it. Only do it with power and then I let out if it gets very high, well before the balance point. Hard to get better at that stuff if you don't want to risk crashing or you aren't just naturally a badass. lol

I think the cover has a yellow tint, which is why i did not see it as it was getting cleaned. I cleaned it again with baking soda and vinegar, and when i put it on, it was obviously cleaner. Not perfect, but it allows me to se the speedometer much more easily now.
I then bought some toothpaste and cleaned the brake light cover, the turn signal covers, and the top headlamp cover. The lower lamps will have to wait a little.

You can use those headlight restore kits, OR if you really want it to look good and last, you can wet sand it with 800, 1000, then 1200 grit sand paper, then go up to like 3000 or buff it with a compound, then hit it with clear coat. Not the rattle can garbage, but real clear coat. Sand and buff out any orange peel if you have it, and it'll be perfect and last. I plan to do exactly this to mine soon. I also do this to automitive headlights and they last a long time and stay looking new.

I've used brasso to polish plastic then give it a dab of wd40 on a cloth to protect it. I seen it done to car head lights and i was surprised by the results.
