Got my bbk in today and they sent me the wrong one! I mean, the whole thing is not what I ordered!!! How can they do that to me- Ive been oh so patient..
I ordered a 70cc kit w/ cast iron cylinder and 12mm wrist pin size. Paid for 2nd day shipping as well. And you know what they sent me? They sent me the upgraded all aluminum kit !!
Some nerve!!

Is there any tricks, tips or pointers you guys can give me related to the aluminum cylinder? I wanted the cast one cuz its my first project daily scoot and I just heard the cast ones were more for dd reliability, where the aluminum ones are a good platform for a race set up.

i would stick with the aluminum one it was nice of them to do that lol. does the piston have 2 rings or one? if it has two it will be almost just as reliable as cast iron.

The one thing to be really careful with using aluminum is leaning out. With a cast iron kit the aluminum piston expands faster than the iron bore and you get a soft seize as a warning that it's too hot/lean. The aluminum piston should expand at the same rate as the aluminum cylinder and you may end up with a hole in the top of the piston if it goes lean.

Makes sense. I used the step by step bbk install thread on this site and made it so easy. I will be ordering jets from 75-95 to play around with, and do some plug chopping when they come in. What kind or style carb does the triton r4 come with and does anyone know a good source for jets that'll work in it? Does anyone have any they'd like to sell me???

The Triton should have a 14mm carb. It's been a long time since either of mine was stock so now I forget if they were Leader or Mikuni carbs. Either way, they use mikuni vm11/22 style jets. I have had good service from jetsrus.com and rockymountainatv.com purchasing those jets.

It feels like more power is there, but its kinda sluggish. Since i bought the bike, it would bog down and not take fuel when i cold started it. got better as the engine warmed but id always have to feather the throttle upon take off, cold or hot. any ideas ? that didnt change after the bbk.

I took my cvt cover off for the first time and what a complete mess!! there was rubber belt dust that was on EVERYTHING!!!! The bikes had a weird tap in the case since i bought it, but after 600 miles or so, and after the bbk, i decided to open it up and plan some cvt upgrades. I took photos of a new belt next to the old, tore up one(which was a bando), just to show you guys how badly wore it was. Seemed like 1/4 inch of the belt was gone!! Pics up soon. just for the thread about the question" how do i kno if my belt is worn".
I also found that little magical washer in my variator and Im gonna make a separate thread about it cuz i ran into a snag and I'd like to share an easy fix .After hearing a lot of the tritons not having a restricting washer, I was not convinced that it was one to begin with.Sure enough it was and out it came!! (kinda)

Have you tried adjusting the idle mix and needle position to eliminate the bog?

vert i think i was out doing that very thing when you posted your response--. Not sure if i adjusted the needle, but i know i was fooling with the idle and the fuel mixture- the one sticking out and the one recessed.

The one sticking out is the idle, the one recessed is the A/F mixture screw. Turn the A/F mix screw in a 1/8th turn at a time until the bog goes away. Then set the idle were you need it.

You'd know if you messed with the needle, you'd have to pull the top of the carb off.
