Hi,
I upgraded my 49cc to a 70cc BBK. All went great. Not my first time installing a BBK.. Started and ran fine. I decided to switch to premix since my oil pump wasn't designed for 70cc. I emptied the gas tank via the carb fuel line and emptied the oil tank. Somehow my engine flooded with oil. I mean flooded!! The whole crankcase was full of pure oil. Ounces poured out the exhaust when I took it off. I removed the head and got most of the oil out with a rag. Put it back together and it cranks sooo slowly. Won't start. Starter smoked while trying to start it. The starter died. Bought another starter and killed that one too. She cranks fine with the spark plug removed.
I can't use my kickstarter because its been broken for months.
I'm going to buy another starter but I don't want to kill that one too. Any advice? I got most of the oil out. I still see a little bit in the bottom of the crankcase. Is that an issue?
Thanks

Likely the oil line check valve was stuck open and the oil ran into the crankcase..You will have to remove the cylinder to get all the oil out of the case.Lots of oil can be pumped out with just the spark plug out and spinning it over..

As for the starter...... For every one minute used trying to start the motor....allow 15 minutes for it to cool down. Continuous use of the starter is pretty much guaranteed to fry it. It draws a LOT of amps and gets hot fast. Pretty hard on the starter relay, wiring and battery too.
Another way to think of it..... Starters were designed for motors that start right up......not for trying to force a broken motor to start

Just start it with the oil in the cases. Nothing is gonna happen. Use the kickstarter tho or put a drill on the flywheel. I once had a Honda SFX with flooded cases from standing. It wasnt a scooter but a smoke machine!!! After it warmed up and i rode up and down the drive way a couple of times the smoke disappeared and everything went back to normal.

What 190mech said is right...your crankcase filled with gas/oil. You should feel a bit lucky.
The problem is not uncommon. WORD OF WARNING ... When you go to premix, you must have a good petcock, (No such thing), and shut off you fuel EVERY time you stop. Not for the evening...every time you stop.
The average petcock for NA engines are POS. Yes, pieces of shit. They leak. Gas in the crankcase will destroy you seals and bearings.
Luckily, (maybe) for you that it happened quite dramatically. Starters are cheaper than full rebuilds. Who knows? maybe you can drain it, flush the case and go off!
We turned many TZ Yamaha's upside down (to drain) for the same reason at the race track. (cylinders off)

Thanks everyone! Shes running! Got my kickstart lever today (thanks Amazon Now) and she fired up on the 2nd kick! Amazing how weak starter motors are.. And boy did she smoke! I'm lucky my neighbors didn't call the fire dept.
