Yesterday 03.00 leave for a 800 mile road trip see mate in ICU. 04.00, 40 miles from home puncture. Put on silly space saver spare wheel on car.06.00 home text mate to order tyre. 08.00 sleep a bit. 11.00 put bit on scooter but needed to drill casing for dowels to fit. Then put on carb. 15.30 fit new tyre, ready to go 16.00 call from his wife, nurses advise not to visit as he doesn't recognise his wife and aggressive now on his 4th blood transfusion liver problem and maybe kidney's. So arrange to go at weekend only to realise I have to drop son in law at hospital for 05.30 Thursday to have two discs removed from neck then wait to take daughter and granddaughter back and then pick him up Saturday. But can work around visiting later. 10.00 this morning arrive in Aberystwyth to do son's motorbike but big settee in the way. Relief go home as very hot here in Wales. Walk to back of car and the new tyre flat on with the spare and will sort that later. I wonder what else is in store for me as they say it comes in threes. Unless I lost count. Oh well, another day another dollar as the saying goes. 😊

And the saga continues picked up son-in-law at 05.00 took him for op. Daughter and 2yr old granddaughter came down by bus later. Sil wheeled back to room as we are rushing out granddaughter to another hospital 3 mile away as this one has no A&E unit. Back to see him after all this sorted all good. Take other 2 back to theirs granddaughter still poorly. I drop off to sleep to get a message from my mates wife to say he might not be here much longer. So tomorrow night a 300 mile trip to another hospital.

Sorry to hear all that. BTW- the saying is now "another day another 10 cents." Inflation you know... I am not sure how it works with Euros or Pounds

Sorry to hear all that. BTW- the saying is now "another day another 10 cents." Inflation you know... I am not sure how it works with Euros or Pounds I think the conversion of "another day, another 10 cents" to Euros would be 'a dime minus a slug'. But if they have metric hours, or something like that, then all bets are off.
But anyway, sorry to hear of your friends troubles milly.

Thanks all, friend passed away in the end so another funeral soon. Joy's of getting older. So this month I am now on my third puncture on the car and my son has just phoned me up to say needs a rear tyre doing on his scooter as that tyre is probably old as the scoot (2006) so a new one in the afternoon tomorrow. For no reason my knee is killing me and I am laying in bed with my knee raised and an ice pack on it, glad the sun is going down now as its cooler now. Hopefully wont be to painful at work tomorrow. Be nice if I worked for the goverment could claim sick pay
