My father was browsing used cars from the local dealer's site. He found this and showed it to me. Everyone try not to call at once about it.

A little paint, new engine, transmission, tires brakes, belts and hoses, wiring, electronics and sensors, computer, and interior and, it will be almost as good as new. I don't think this car cost $12,000 when it was new though so dumping in about $25,000 in parts might not make sense, ha ha.

PS We laugh but, watch it be sold for the asking price in just a week or so. Might be some idiot out there.

A guy at work who used to sell cars told me that people buy burned out hulks at the auctions all the time. He saw a totally burned up late model pick-up truck sell for $8,000 and the only thing we could figure is, they will get a good title with the hulk and they can pry off the vin number tags and mount them on some "other" vehicle of the same make and model and have something they can sell. In other words, it might be a way to launder stolen vehicles if you buy the VIN tags and a title for $8,000 then turn around and sell your other vehicle for $40,000 it might make sense. He said this happens all the time. Doubt this is the case here though as this vehicle in great shape would not be worth $12,000 in my mind.
