ok i just got a 49cc 4 stroke jap scooter i road it all the way home and it ran fine... got it home gave it a bath cuz it was a dirtball and went to take off down the road and it bogged down and died now it wont start i noticed it has a big hole in the air box so im sure it sucked up some water it has spark and fule and com. i checked all that i also took off the carb and drained the fule and blew it out still nuthin any help would be gratly appreciated

well first thing i would do is crank it with no plug in just to get the water out
and if you drained the the carb it will take some cranking for the bowl to refill as they run vacuum petcocks
what did you get for a scooter a honda or a yamaha vino

it doesnt have a name on it but im pretty sure its a gy6 and iv cranked the hell out of it im worried im gunna burn out the starter...

just cleaned the jets and took out the plug and turned it over for a min and put the plug back in still nuthin... idk what els to try...

give it a shot of starting fluid to see if it starts
if it runs on spray its fuel related if not then its spark or compresion

just tryed the shot of starting fluid and nuthin still pulled the plug and put it back in the wire and grounded it to the head and its got spark put my finger over the plug hole turned it over and it blew my finger off so it should have enuf com. to start i would think...

ok so idk if the spark is hot enuf shouldnt u hear a click when u check the spark b/c i cant hear one and if the spark isnt hot enuf it will just snuff its self out when its in the cylinder right?  ? |

problem fixed got a new cdi and runs like new ty to every one helped out...
