My brother was a security guard for Wells Fargo, one of his duties was to escort laid off or fired employees while they cleaned out their desks etc, automatically assuming the employee was a threat, or perhaps trying to give that impression so as not to look so bad. He quit finally, got sick of the game, he walked off the job instead of escorting a lady out of the building in the walk of shame. Said the branch manager locked himself in the bathroom until the girl left, and she never raised a stink, just cried.

I have to do that too as part of my duties but, they only have me do if an employee is making threats. One guy last week threatened to kill someone so, he got escorted off the property. He was in the executive wing too. You just never know. Another guy threatened to kill his manager, and two of his co-workers...I was called upon for him as well. It is not fun.

I do not "feel" as safe on two wheels these days. The HUGE drop in 2 wheel vehicles on the road may indicate I'm the nut...... for still riding. I'm in South Florida. Need I say more?
Looking forward to moving an hour or two north. At least out of the madness zone.

So I was out today on the 2 stroke bike. It has a really good shot out of the hole. It's all too easy to go from zero to 50 really quickly. But I find that often some people want to prove their car is faster so after I back off at just around the speed limit or just a bit above, some fools will still have their foot on the pedal floored trying to catch up and as I let off, come flying past headed for 30-40 above posted speed limit like they're late for their own funeral or something....careening past me and the other traffic.
the camera was rolling today. I have a few of these on video. I may have to take your advice Peas and start posting videos of these morons and their stupid dangerous driving (complete with tag number) on YouTube for all to see.

The only way to be free of Road Rage is to be off of the roads....I want to retire someplace far from just about everyone. Not Alaska, too cold...but, you get the idea.

There is no madness 'zone', it is EVERYWHERE! Please don't say that. It CAN'T be as bad in Elk Grove, Iowa as it is in Miami Florida or Chicago, IL for example! NO CHANCE!
Not even the same Universe.

Wait, Elk Grove, Iowa? Isn't that the road rage capital of the United States? I was there once and some 90 year old woman made a turn without using her turn signal. What a bunch of lawless hoodlums they have out there, ha ha. Bill

I used to ride my bicycle along a main, busy road every day for about 3 miles each way by myself.
Never ONCE had a problem. Once, for punishment, dad made me walk 7 miles home alone from a shopping center when I was 6 years old. Major shopping center, several expressways to cross (over bridges) then about 4 miles down a variety of busy roads and some stretches through wooded areas.
No problem. I made it home after about 3 hours of walking.
A 6 year old would probably not make that walk today. Pretty sure of it.

I agree with humanshield, Here in South Florida people just don't care. They are mainly Snow Birds or Tourist that feel they can drive however they want. Between the old folks, drunks, tourists and the idiots on their phones its a crazy place to ride even on a big bike.

Right? Folks who "think" they have it bad have never driven here...or not out of the touristy areas anyway.
A LARGE part of the population here is illegals or people who fled Cuba, Haiti, South America or Mexico or Canucks. I don't see Americans that often. MANY here don't speak or read English and many of them don't like the fact that they have to deal with us stupid Americans.
Spanish is the primary language. I'm lucky these days to find someone who speaks English around here. Spanish, Creole, English...in that order.
So. many Americans that are still here struggling to make ends meet are not the happiest of campers. That might account for some of the anger and hostility?
Ya know, I CANNOT BELIEVE they won't pass laws against texting and driving in Florida. it's pandemic and folks are dying. What the hell are they doing in Tallahassee?

Most younger folks do not believe me (and I don't care) but when I lived in NJ, (1963 I started school) I had to walk to school which was a 1.3 mile walk...each way, and, my Mother took me to kindergarten the first day to make sure I was fine, and after that...I walked to school, walked home for lunch, walked back to school and then home after school. I was 5! We all did it, I was not some special kid on the block. I did that for until the 3rd grade which I began after we moved out west into the country and I had to ride a bus and, for the first time, ate a school lunch. Snow? Didn't matter. Rain? Didn't matter. If folks did that today, child services would have them arrested. Yes, I got beat up by bullies on the way sometimes but, I learned how to avoid them and also learned that most bullies were chicken sh*t if you fought back. Sounding like an old guy I would say that I think today's kids are spoiled and have no idea how to deal with anything even remotely considered an adverse situation. Yes, I am 60 and proud of it, ha ha. Bill

Yep....today's kids can't walk at all, and God forbid they are separated from their cell phones for 60 seconds.
Hate to say this, but it's gonna take a MAJOR catastrophe to correct all these problems. X9 class solar flare, Yellow Stone eruption, global epidemic outbreak or something big like that to shake people out of the comas they're in.

Whats really sad is I live on the Florida Scenic Highway along the water and there's literally 4 drug rehabs in a three mile area along the water. You see them outside playing basketball, in their swimming pools and on the docks fishing all day long, some rehab...

I am actually against a law like that because, most states, including Kentucky, already have a law that covers that. It is called "Inattentive Driving." This covers eating a ham sandwich and not paying attention. It also covers eating a sub sandwich, or tuna sandwich while driving, and reading the newspaper, or putting on make-up, etc. They all just need to enforce this law that I would guess Florida already has. IF they do not, they need it because it covers those morons that can not even be talking on a phone and driving a car. Some folks can do this, I can do this this...some folks can not and will sit through a green light while arguing with someone on their phone. Messing with the car's GPS system is also covered if it takes your attention away from the primary job of driving. A women got into a wreck here because she was trying to change clothes while driving. What an f'ing moron. See? We do not need a special law for that, they busted her for inattentive driving. Now, maybe that penalty needs to be much stiffer, I will not argue with that. (I have no idea what ours is here) Driving is a serious business and I agree that those that do not take it seriously need to be nailed before they kill someone. Bill
