Hello.
I just bought a malossi multivar second hand, the seller told me it would fit a 139qmb. It has just arrived, it looks a little small to me but its been along time since I've had my hands on a stock variator.
The aftermarket variator I'm running with now is a tad bigger. I'm almost using all of the surface area to push out the belt.
The malossi multivar has a diameter of 8,9 cm can anybody verify if this is right for a 139qmb?
Being that its slightly smaller, would it be better if I stick with the bigger variator? in terms of high speed.

Its weird a company like malossi would make such as small variator, that limits the highest possible top speed.

Some tune for quickness not too speed.

Should help acceleration... but at the same time, lower top end. If you keep up with the traffic you encounter as far as 'cruise'(top speed required), the helping acceleration might be handy. (if you lag behind traffic or are a roadblock to others{maybe they'll give you a push} it should help) tom

I have Malossi Multivar kit part number 5113139 here that was listed for the 139QMB by major parts dealers. It is also 89mm diameter.

DO remember what your top speed was, with the malossi variator? Do you think it could reach 43 mph? or is it impossible because of the smaller diameter.
