Seems like the coolant fins on the cylinder are a bit different but other than that i really dont see any big diffs. Could just be the pics i guess.?. Thanks for sharing.
Are they the ones for sale?

So... Would I be able to swap the head out with a BBK, if it was like that one?

So... Would I be able to swap the head out with a BBK, if it was like that one? You might end up replacing the 4 rods that hold the head on, because they'd be too long for the BBK, but after really looking at it, the base looks about the same, so it should fit.

Hm. If they do turn out to be too long - Could I just use a tool and thread them lower?

Ok I got my engine taken apart and it is indeed a 1E40FM head. Good call, Reign.
So are we confident that a 1E40QMB cylinder and head will fit? Would I need a new rod?

I just happen to have both engines in the garage. If you really needed me to, I could take both top-end's off and see if they're interchangable.

I would really appreciate it. I have my top end sitting on my desk right now waiting for my buddy to come over and i'm going to get all of the measurements with his new caliper. I was trying to use your pictures and see if everything lined up with a ruler. Looks pretty close but there's only one way to find out.
The information on the 1E40FM is very hard to find.
Thanks man.

Reign, could you try fitting the 1E40QMB top end on the 1E40FM for me? I've gotten my measurements but I'm still not quiet convinced.
