The bright side is that those Crocs or whatever went off the cliff so now he can get something more suitable for riding. Not that I should talk, I wear sneakers most of the time.
Could be worse, I saw a guy wearing flip flops the other day on a GSX-R. I'm not sure how that's even comfortable with the shifter.

:doh: he had it leaned over pretty good. i wonder if his center stand leveraged the back tire up or did he grab a hand full of rear brake? kinda hard to tell at this angle. either way he,s lucky that sand was there or he might have high sided it and flew right over that guardrail

I think it was a combination of rear brake and center stand. If you watch closely, just before the back end kicks out from under him, there's no way he's gonna make that turn going that speed at that angle. I think he hit the brake and leaned a little further, and it did him in.
