I have been around racing all my life. This is my second scooter. I use them as a pit bike, but anything can be made faster or more fun. I have been a crewchief on a Pro Stock dragbike, OTR trucker, fire department mechanic, fabricator, land speed car crewman and driver, owned and ridden a host of motorcycles since the early 70's from 2 stroke 750 Kaw to turbocharged/intercooled Harleys. I have an SR50 Aprilia that sat for ten years. It ran OK when I got it running using a pipe I built from scraps with no science at all in the design. It went 45 mph with two big guys on it but has a fuel issue I have to solve now. I bought a Baleigh slip roll to roll some cones for a pipe to bring out the mid range, and was hoping to find some good ideas on this forum.

Between 190Mech, Brent, Frankenmech, Lucass2T and a few others, you'll find all the good advice you can handle.
Know where I can find a Bassani chamber for an older Yamaha 2 stroke 175?
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys for the welcome. I used to race laydown shifter enduro karts. Have raced at Daytona, Charlotte, Rockingham, Road Atlanta, Road America, Gingerman, Grattan, Mid Ohio, and a few I can't recall. That was in the late 90's. We used an 80cc Kaw with a 100 kit, and then moved up to a CR125 Honda with RS Honda road race gearset and extensive mods. Then we built a custom one off chassis and used an RS 125 HRC Honda motor. It would hit 151 mph at Road America! IT was like going 300 when you lay on your back and your eyes are 14" off the deck! Our chassis is still in competition 20 years later and doing well with a new owner. It was built super narrow for tire side bite. Most chassis are made wider to package all the components-lay down seat, fuel tanks, radiator, motor and pipe, shift system etc. It was a great class with few rules and it let the competitors be very creative. I didn't drive it but built it and kept it running. I built a unique fuel system with a VHSB composite/magnesium Del Orto carb that I modified with a pulse pump to pump fuel into the bowl, no needle and seat but another pump pumped the fuel back to the tanks. Fuel starvation is a problem when you can't lean the kart into a corner like a bike. The carb was huge and the power band was real short. You had to be up and down in the gearbox every corner. We had a Dale Walker computerized full throttle shift system for full throttle shifting. From the go karts we went to a Pro Stock Harley dragbike and finished 3rd in the US in 2002, our first season. I have crewed on a couple of land speed cars in 2014-2017. Got to drive the one car-a 1070 Cadillac to 186 mph in a mile. Checked off one thing on my bucket list. The car went 208 mph before it was retired due to too squirrely at speed with a full belly pan and 1,000 rear wheel horsepower. It would almost take off airborn. I have ridden motorcycles since 1970 and currently have the Aprilia RS50 Relica, a 2004 ZZR1200 Kaw set up like a European cop bike-but much faster- and a 1998 Harley Road King that is all black with turbocharged/intercooled 97 cubic inch S & S motor. It makes 175 HP and TQ. I can't leave anything alone. I have quit riding the street bikes and they are both for sale cause I have balance issues from hearing loss being around race motors and diesels all my life and back problems from old age. Gettin' old ain't for sissies! This is a get forum and I hope I can add something to the iinfo on here as I pick everyone's brains. As soon as I can figure out how I will post a pic of my 1961 GM bus that we travel in to races, etc. Computers are not my strong suit LOL.

This is my 1961 GM bus. We were in Colorado last Sept when this was taken.
204 ZZR 1200 Kaw. Set up to mimic a European cop bike but much faster. I surprised a few youngsters on crotch rockets in my time.
CR125 Honda power. Second shifter kart I built. Top speed about 130 mph.
HRC RS 125 power. HRC is Honda Racing Corp. This kart had my dual pump fuel system. Top speed 151 mph. Races were 45 minutes. NASCAR tracks have an infield road course. This machine had air jacks on it like an INDY car so we could raise it off the track and warm the tranny and engine up with the tires 1 inch off the ground. Not many of these left now since you can buy a "sit up" shifter kart ready to race. The laydown karts you had to fabricate everything and the best thinkers were winning with innovative parts/pieces.
