Hmmm...the kit looks like mine. The US GYro's have a rear facing cylinder...I have no real details, but the specs are nearly all the same. I have no port maps of the North American models. I can get some part numbers from the Asia Gyro's though.
The biggest issue we have faced is case port timing. We can speed it up, but not slow it down, really. That is why we try to "emulate" the MB-5. We are getting closer to proper case porting...and the use of ceramic coatings...and more tech.

hey TG, what do you mean by speeding up and slowing down case port timing? are you talking about from the fuel mixture inside the case before it goes into cylinder, or the actual timing duration of the cylinder? ill dig up some pics of the different gyro cylinder ports ive found. im interested in these because the tb07 stream (vertical cylinder), tb09 American gyro (horizontal cylinder) look to have same case/ cylinder port shape as my beloved AB07. at some point they changed the shape of the ports on I believe the gyro up? to the shape of that bb kit on page 1. however people have reportedly installed the bigger port vertical gyro up big bore on the earlier smaller port horizontal American gyro with little modification. if that's the case it might be a option for the ab07.

hey TG, which one of these looks like your engines ports shapes? anyone have any idea how people are getting these bbk on the horizontal gyros? treatland sells one of these kits with a buyer commenting only problem ge found was the exhaust flange was clocked different... how are they making this work? even the japan sites say thes will fit both ta, and tb gyro engines. which US horizontal engines are tb09 (84 nn50) and tb10 (85-86 tg50).

ive been playing with my toys and have some new info to add here. with all the deals for black Friday/ cyber Monday, I purchased a few things here and there. I picked up this polini lead 50 cylinder kit from parts for scooters. I shipped super fast and I received all parts safely packaged. thanks!! its for a Honda AF01 engine which has the same bore and stroke as the AB07. 40x39.3. but the ports are dio size (huge) compared to the AB07 and AF05 ports. the cylinder its self is the same height as the AB097 and only a mm or 2 taller than an AF05. and the AF01 uses a 10mm wrist pin. so now I have this cylinder that fits but the ports don't seal, what to do?? MODIFY!!!!! I have been testing jb weld and a product called quicksteel on a 66cc pk80 moped motor and am liking the quicksteel for numerous reasons including hight working temp, higher shear rating, and conducts electricity. so I marked the cases where the new to be cut ports woul.d go and cleaned up the cases in the area to be worked, then I mashed up a ball of putty and went to sculpting. I pushed iy deep onto the metal cases left it high on the top and sides so I could cut to proper height when done with the inside port work. gotta say I couldn't be happier! it came out pretty good I think. the quicksteel ground down at almost the same as the aluminum cases. this could open those brave enough to hack up a perfectly running motor to new cylinders they think of using. heres some pics of my surgery performed before after work in between

as soon as I get bearings on Thursday ill be reassembling it. cant wait. while I was bored though, I couldn't help playing with the spare parts pile. I figured out that the af18 dio engine uses same cylinder bolt spacing so heads and cylinder adapting could be possible. also tried a 40mm bore Yamaha cylinder on the AB07cases. guess what, it fit too. its a bit taller that the honda cylinders, even the express which is the tallest honda cyl. I have. hers a few frankenstien ideas I had. the express or hobbit cylinders that need spacers to work on them, might be a good option for those not wanting hog out ports like I did. with no spacer, a hobbit metrakit would be pretty close to proper heights on an ab07. with a little grinding on a fin or 2 to clear my CT dio reed intake. heres what I came up with:

Thanks for the closer look at the gyro motors. I have been interested in it ever since I realized it was similar to the AF16 format. Looks like there are endless possibilities with that motor if you are willing to work it out.

Hope the QuikSteel works well,it may be a good alternative to welding for filling...

howdy y'all! here with an update on my Frankenstein ab07/ af01. ive got a little over 10 miles on it right now. since I have a hard time with those oko carburetors, I decided to run it with a stock carb and manifold for break in. well atleast the first tank of gas.... it has pretty good torque. will pull the front tire up even with an old slipping cvt belt. I need to order a new belt today. taking it sort of easy on it. I break in different than others. I give it 2 start warm up for 10-15 minutes at idle with a few revs, cool down between. check torque on cylinder bolts then I ride it making sure I don't run at full throttle for more than 10-15 seconds at a time. but I will use full throttle. it starts and idles well. all and all im very happy with it so far. quicksteel is holding up just fine so far.
