Ok, what would make my engine stall or cut out at only the area between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle? I cleaned the carb yesterday. My carb is a genuine keihin carb and looks to have no adjustable carb needle. I am at a loss here guys. Ideas?

I think that would be the 'pilot jet' portion of the system. Have you removed the pilot jet and checked that it is not plugged? The opening is very small, and difficult to see light through. At least I found it difficult. Try using a bread bag twist tie with the paper removed as a probe. It should go all the way through with a little maneuvering. If it will not, I use a wire on a wire brush to poke through. It seemed the only effective way to open the blockage. tom

Problem solved--- took carb apart again and found that I did not put the little plastic piece on top of the needle in correctly. I thought you just drop it in, evedently it has to be put in an exact way to work right. Anyway, problem solved.
