I know there's kits that can do it, but they cost $300-400, i've seen this type of solution somewhere on youtube and want to do it, your opinion?
Then you screw on brake disk with spacers on outside of the rim. Also since swing arm is big caliper has to be installed with spacers spaced to fit closer to rim.
There is kit for $150 + another one i found that has similar idea, but not sure this swing arm will fit 49cc block it claims 125cc, are swing arms for short block 150 and 49cc are interchangeable?

Considering that the lion's share of the braking forces are applied to the front wheel will a rear disk brake really make all that much of an improvement? Greg Just wondering.

Try going 30-40mph find some marker on the road and practice emergency braking applying front only, note your stopping distance and how many times your front wheel locked because all force is on front.
Then do same thing on same part of the road using both rear and front brakes and note the difference.

I just have a hard time believing you will gain enough to make it worth your time and trouble. It's only an opinion, not an argument. It's your time and your money. Greg

IMHO brakes most important part of a vehicle, one foot less stopping distance worth it for me, plus i can use 2 fingers to brake having better grip on the handlebars.
Rear brake just does not do anything on speed unless you slam it, $160 is not a bad price perhaps i just save it up.

I ride wet roads, roads littered with sand, dirt alleyways, etc... enough that having a solid rear brake is nice. I've been researching ways to convert a standard longcase Minarelli over.
