There are folks here more deserving of that title than me by a long shot. I've got a lot to learn. Even the folks that seem to be experts to me are still trying to learn more and try new things.

And to all the other fine ladies and gentlemen around here I thank you also. I've learnt so much in the last two months from all of you. I feel right at home here.

Tango, thats exactly wat im saying! This site is #1 !! And so are its members. I think the brotherhood of scooter enthusists are as tightly knit as any other crew out there.
And Ive never seen so much praise, good words, positive feedback on any other site. I mean, even when 2stroked told the noob the other day that he'd rather slit his wrist before he bought a POS pipe like noob did-It was said in good ol passive aggresive fashion lol..

The scooter community is no different from the Corvette community (except that our top speeds are what Corvettes do when they are idling in 6th gear). I pass another scooter rider on the road and we exchange horns without even thinking about it. And because my Axis is pretty rare the camaraderie is even bigger. Wait a sec...are we hijaking this post with sob stories?!? Shame on us!!

I grease em on my race scoot and use graphite powder rubbed into my daily drivers weights

This is one of those things people tend to form camps on. It is plastered all over the internet and there are pros and cons on both sides it would seem. I am going to put a fine film of high temp synthetic grease on my rollers and the variator slide ramp. Not slab it on, just a thin film. I feel it will penetrate the granular pores of both the roller and slide material and do some good. After all, i am running a stock set up and the manufactuor of said stock set up said to grease it. The engineers that designed the application of the this particular CVT system may just know a bit more than the average joe darting about on a scoot.....but then maybe not. HA!

I have never seen any kind of grease that would not attract whatever particulate matter that is suspended in the surrounding air. I drive a lot on gravel roads and feel that graphite works best for me.

Instead of belt dust all over the place, it sticks with the grease and just simply wipes away. Works kinda like oil in an airfilter.... I wouldnt use 1.5g on each weight tho. Just enough to glaze the weight.
