Gonna try and change the oil today. After looking over posts and the user manual, 15w-40 is suggested. I can't seem to find any 4T 15w-40 oil. Only 4T 10w-40 or heavy diesel 15w-40. Unless i want to spend $30 on a 4-5 qt bottle. Which i really don't have the money for.
Will it be okay to use the 15w-40 diesel? Or does it need to say 4T?

It doesn't have to say 4T. Just don't buy any oil that says 2T. You don't need a motorcycle oil for these, because they don't have a wet clutch. Automotive oils work. I use Shell Rotella T 15W40 diesel oil. 10W40 is OK too if you wanna use that. Quite a few 139QMB riders use it.

Not sure what the scoot shop used previous. I was probably a couple hundred over on the oil change. Engine would give a umm...hiccup(?) during idle.
After 15w-40, hiccup seems gone and sounds better.

Iv used Rotella T 15W40 in my older lawn equipment without issues. Never ran it in a scooter tho.

If you were to ride in sub freezing weather that might be a good question but with 2 wheeled machines the lower number is relatively meaningless just buy your favorite oil in what ever weight span is available. I don't think you should even consider using a diesel rated oil in a gas engine. Different additives, different SAE ratings on the oil.

I'd recommend Shell Rotella, Mobile Delvac, and Chevron Delo. Walmart SuperTech is also on my list as it is made by a national petroleum company(Marathon?). The 15W part is quite good for cold viscosity and the -40 part should provide good hot protection.
The added factor biasing me in choosing compression ignition rated(diesel) is that they still have some ZDDP added. These engines have sliding friction on the cam followers/rocker arms. ZDDP helps protect the sliding surfaces, and is not necessary in 'roller' lifters/cam followers. tom
