Still waiting on shim stock. I should have just ordered the $40 assortment, it would have been here already. Trying to save a buck sucks. Shim stock came today. Wrong thickness (.01 instead of .001) And they sent only 1 instead of a box of 12 as advertised. Now they expect me to pay return shipping AND 20% restocking fee. Never again will I buy from an amazon seller. From now on I will buy only if it comes directly from amazon. Amazon is worse than ebay with issues like this. They suck about where the item is shipping from(location). Its a big secret.. You need to read the delivery dates and do the math in your head. I ordered a gauge I thought I see in a few day and it came from China(5 weeks). What was worse they shipped the wrong part and I had fight to get the right part and wait another 5 weeks. I only make purchases that are "prime" items. Ebay is much better dealing with private sellers.

There seems to be a run of slow shipping going on lately, I’ve got something that was due here last Wednesday... still waiting. Just curious; is everyone here having issues with USPS or is it a different shipper? That's what mine is that I've been complaining about in T2's thread. I contacted the seller to see if they could get any update from USPS. They said this is the 5th item in 2 weeks that has been over 7 days late with USPS and that USPS blames the weather every time they contact them.

Mine was also with USPS it made it here yesterday so 6 days late. Mine was Louisiana to PA, I don’t recall any bad weather. Usually I have good luck with shipping but usually when your waiting for an item so you can finish something is when it’s late, really late.

My shipping was USPS and on time, I knew going in it would take longer because it was not PRIME. The seller sent the wrong item. On a side note, I ordered a 60" post hole digger late afternoon of the 15th. They arrived today 17th at 1:00pm. Already used it to sink a couple posts for a hammock. I am getting older and lazier by the day.

Screwing with .001" shim stock is my new "hated" thing to do. It is right up there with changing tires AFAIC. I don't know when I will be able to get this motor back together, our busy season at work just kicked in with a vengeance.

The ZX handlebars I got off of feebay arrived so I am working on a handlebar mod and would like to know what others think before I go to the trouble of hacking them up. The ZX bars mount like the Honda Elite bars, they slip over the fork stem and are held on by the stem by large nuts. I sit towards the rear of the scoot and would like the bars to be closer to me. I dont like having to lean over as far as I do. I got to looking at the ZX bars and realized I could cut the welds that hold the bars to the mount. Then turn the mount 180° and weld the the bars back on. Doing that will move the bars back around 3" which I think would be about right for me. My question is how will steering be affected since my hands will no longer be in line with the center of the stem, they will be behind the stem centerline.

I think they'll be fine,,Think about all the goof ball handlebar setups the H-D crowd uses, most of them make it down the boulevard without falling off!

Speaking of the H-D crowd, they are already starting to arrive here for their bike week which officially starts tomorrow. I was hoping to have the 100cc motor going again, but other things have gotten in the way of putting it together. As far as the bars go, I am just wondering if they will feel "funky". I wonder how apes would look on the scoot? LOL!

Also, I've seen enough people use bicycle hbar adapters that move the bar mounting point maybe 3-4" ahead of or behind the stem. I'm not sure that Harleys or modders are always a good example to follow with bars though. I kinda thought the big tall ape hangers were some weird outlaw biker statement... like they're always riding around with their hands up to surrender. lol
If you have to stretch to bars, it's not good anyway. Being able to bend your elbows will help you stay in better control. Leaning forward could put weight on the front, but realistically if you were after great handling you'd prob sit toward the front of the seat and consider a higher rear/lower front on these small scoots. It's not comfy, but if I come to a turn kinda fast I move up like that and it seems to make the front end more stable. Maybe it's because I'm such a heavy rider, but I don't like the feeling in curves if I'm all the way at the back. If you just wanna cruise around town as I suspect, I think you'll be fine regardless as long as everything is straight.
Most of the time steering issues are pretty much immediately apparent. Even if you don't always know what is wrong, something doesn't feel right, so if it feels weird on the 1st ride (slow at first) then I guess it was a bad idea. Another option to change position is using pegs and moving them around. Dropping pegs an inch below where the floorboard is and/or forward or backward can really change how things feel. The little TaoTao feels way roomier than the TMAX with dropped and forward pegs. You can get into handling/control stuff there too, likely being better to keep your feet under you more... but if you just wanna chill it feels nice to stretch your legs and it may be possible while in a normal position on the seat.

is that the phongeer tri port cylinder geek?? Yes it is. I really liked the Airsal Aluminium kit till the piston broke. This one should be a little stronger.
