Don't waste your time or money on classes. Either buy a book or learn from vids and forums on the internet. Here are three vids that should prove helpful. The belt-changing vid is not applicable to all scooters as clearance to remove the belt is not available at the rear pulley to remove the belt. www.thescootermall.com/HowToVideos.html

You have taken the first step in learning to fix your own scoot. You've become a member of the best board out there. I've been here for a few weeks and the wealth of knowledge I see here is amazing. There are also no arguments, no flaming, no embarassment, no head-butting. Just knowledge-sharing. I'm really impressed with this bunch of guys. What I did when I just started was just go ahead and read through the threads and posts. That proved to be a lot of fun and it allowed me to get the flavour of the board and answered questions that I didn't even know were to be asked. It also allowed me to become familiar with several principles and jargon that made asking questions and deciphering answers much easier. There is also a how-to section here that covers everything. And I do mean EVERYTHING. That said, if you search and can't find something you are looking for, just ask away and somebody will point you to the thread or answer you straight away. Our webmaster 90GTVert (aka Vert, Brent, and quite recently "Bert"...LOL...) will be around shortly to officially welcome you. Welcome aboard.

That could very well be used as a greeting to all new members to kind of get them off on the right foot so to speak. You have a way with words, my friend. Once again.... great post. Reg

Just so it doesn't look like Bert is not paying attention, he already welcomed her in another thread and this question was asked along with another in another thread of hers. ;D

Man, what a great post! That could very well be used as a greeting to all new members to kind of get them off on the right foot so to speak. You have a way with words, my friend. Once again.... great post. Reg I try, brother. I've been a member and moderator of several boards over the years so I know what it takes to welcome, to paciphy, to smooth, or to totally upset a board. I've always tried to be the one to speak with reason, if not authority. Everybody was new to something at some point and if I can save a new member the hassles that I went through by offering a welcoming hand, so be it. The words flow because I have a lot of practice, I guess. Even if I spell colour, neighbour, and cheque differently from most here...LOL Just so it doesn't look like Bert is not paying attention, he already welcomed her in another thread and this question was asked along with another in another thread of hers. ;D Yeah...I actually saw that afterwards. Good job as always.

What they said. Go into the Resources and Information section and start reading. Download an engine manual for the type engine you have and look it over, and don't be afraid to poke around your scooter. When I take things apart I use a marker and masking tape, sometimes a camera so I can label what went where, tape screws to what they go to and use the pictures of before, so I could put it back the same way. Any how too's and video's are right here on this site, from basic maintenance to building a racing scooter. Dig in.
