Cover is off
Gave it a light re press but the pulley still drags. It was tight before but now with the bits of aluminum smeared on there it drags.
Shaft is installed to full depth. Short of making a small shim to space it out something is mis machined. The bearing has a circlip so it cannot fall out the back either...
May just machine the rear of the pulley half a mm or so back, but honestly you shouldn't have to do that.

Thanks man, saved me some headaches.
This complete engine sure is lacking in some pieces! I have the white spacers but the kit didnt have the black spacer. I will make one tomorrow at work

Guess with heat the aluminum pulley expands making matters worse, adding some thin shims and cutting .5mm off the aft side of the pulley should polish that turd to a bright sheen...

Yeah it happened as I was pulling into my driveway, engine just hard stopped as I let off the gas. I had started up a hill and been into it for a second then let off and it dies.
Again no mention in any of the literature that these spacers are needed. Just leaves you guessing.

Fork i think you can make a lot yourself. Piaggio Fly uses 32mm fork, like the Malossi. Then you can put a compressor in the top and in the bottom. Save yourself a lot of $$. You're a smart guy, you can figure it out

Holy cow what a waste of money that is... You buy/build so much more exciting stuff with €5k.

Holy cow what a waste of money that is... You buy/build so much more exciting stuff with €5k. I disagree. As someone with track/trackside experience, Malossi stuff is truly built for a purpouse. The 4T stuff is (track dependent) competitive with the 4T engines. Ofc it depends ont he base. Back in... I wanna say 2011/2013, i was in Spa (BE) and there was a guy riding the track with a Piaggio ZIP and this 4T engine in it. The less aggressive 4T made it much more malleable and controllable, especially in Spa where the turns are real tight and (used to) be bumpy. Furthermore, a 4T like this is much more manageable in terms of cost. So it gives you a really good platform to get into it with overseeable costs. And even though the engine may not push the RC-One power, as a rider you learn everything about suspension, grip, braking and acceleration. You get high end, fully adjustable suspension. If you can get that right, than you can turn up the power. Being fast starts there and ends with the engine, not the other way around. However, if you just want to ride on the road, sure.
