Ive noticed some oil spots on driveway where I always park my bike. (4 stoke 49cc chinese scooter) Maybe that's normal but it only has 85 miles on it! I might be over reacting, but since Ive no experience, does this mean I have an oil leak somewhere and if so how would I check it. When replying (until I get to know more about what might be normal/or a problem) explain to me as if you would teach a young child. When I read posts/watch video and it explains what to do, I dont even basically know how to locate or even what the names of parts are nor do I even know what/where covers for anything is or even how to remove them . I am extremely uneducated on things mechanical but would really like to learn so I can evaluate/repair even basic scooter problems. To anyone reading this post, you are probably saying to yourself (or others) how stupid can she get  Actually I wouldnt blame you

on a 4 stroke bike a spot of oil means only 1 thing and that is a leak i would start parking on new paper or card board so i can try and find the leak this will allow you to see exactly where the oli driped on a clean surface and allow you to trace it back up to the engine and frame
one thing i have noticed working on some of the clone bikes is that people who run them on the side stand instead of the center stand tend to have more leaks
i got sick of call backs on one i would get it here wash it up run it and park it on cardboard and not a drop leaked out then when the customer would take it home it would leak again but after the 6th time i made him bring it to me wash it and park it on the card board and that is when i found out he was using the side stand turns out it allows some of the oil to stay up in the valve cover area and even with a new gasket and using silcone gasket maker it would still leak when on the side stand

Oil leaks do not fix their selves. I would get it checked and repaired as soon as possible.

First I have to say, there is no need to explain your lack of knowledge by calling yourself stupid, and ignorance is fixed by learning. Which you are willing to do. Just ask away, and the more you take apart and explore your scooters guts, the more information will stick. I've seen just as many guys call something a thingamajig, and someone will explain it to them. If you don't play the silly girl, they won't treat you like one here, so no more apologies.
Ok, the oil leek, start by first checking the drain plugs, the bolts on the lower part of the engine to make sure they are in tite. Chinese scooters are notorious for loose nuts and bolts out of the crate. For that matter, go over the whole thing and tighten screws nuts and bolts. There is a tube the hangs down by the engine kick start lever side, it comes out of the air box ( the air box is the black hallow thing on the left side if you were sitting on the scooter ) usually this tube is on the left of the air box. A little bit of oil drains into this tube. Mine have a plug in the end, that is a place you may be dripping oil from?
